Practically every website or book about Christianity in England dates its beginnings to the arrival of Augustine from Rome in 597 AD!
That was in 'The Dark Ages' time when little writing was done and the country had reverted to a peasant hand-to-mouth subsistence economy after the Romans left in 410 AD.
Just the fact Augustine came from Rome should scream 'PAGAN IDOLATER!' but he is venerated everywhere and titled 'Saint' as though GOD had gratefully rewarded him with a choice place in heaven ; in fact like all other humans he is still in his grave and will have a distressing interview of Judgment Day.

Good KIng Henry the Eighth destroyed all the abbeys, monasteries and convents in 1538 and executed as many of the priests, monks and nuns as could be captured though many escaped and were hidden by deluded Catholics.
One nunnery that was allowed to continue until the last nuns died of old age was Kirklees Priory from where legend say Robin Hood shot his arrow. A grave still stands a bowshot from the Priory which was converted to a farm centuries ago. I lived half a mile away and am well familiar with local history.

No other race became a multitude of nations.
Views of the audiences from the Proms never show a black, brown or foriegn face! Those races are not banned but somehow the vibes of the event just keep them away.
