Colossians 3...Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now *hidden* with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

When Christ appears, then we will appear with Him, but right now we are hidden with Him.

What does it mean to be *hidden*?

Off the top of my head I have one answer, thinking doesn't give me another answer! ;)

I'd say when we die, we are hidden, in paradise with Jesus. Our lives as they were are no more, there is actually not much rememberance of a dead person, unless you were a history maker or some influential. Most people deal with the death over a period of a few months or couple of years at the most and then the person is hidden as it may seem.

I hope that helps a bit, although it may sound simple.

God bless your heart hadirfuss.

Thank you Teraside; God Bless You :)

Actually, i thought that Being hidden in Christ means it in the current situation, like that the eternal part of us is already hidden from this wicked
world with Christ in heaven. That He has granted us immunity from every
danger this world can throw at us-- All they can do is kill us!

So now in Christ, we have a wonderful freedom and release from every form
of religious, social, and authoritarian bondage. The hollow and deceptive philosophies' . That we no longer need to conform to religious rituals, the sabbath observances, circumcision, or anything of the sort to draw near to God.

That Christ has done it all, already. There is no need to shave heads, restrict ourselves to food, do penance, or walk on our knees to Jerusalem-- Sure, all that stuff looks good, but it's ineffective against sin .

Thanks Again...

Actually you are both right, to be "in Christ" requires the unconditional surrender of self and the taking up of your cross by the power of the HolySpirit in obedience to Christ.

Hadirfuss, you and brother jiggyfly have a way of conveying the truth of a life in Christ that I'm only just learning, I agree with your last post, every single word of it!

God bless you both
