Revelation 12

I just read Revelation 12 and thought it was a very interesting chapter. I believe the woman is Israel and the 12 stars are the 12 tribes of Israel. I would like to hear some of everyones interpretations about this chapter. Specifically about the women clothed with the sun and the flood. Remember to pray before studying and I believe this chapter will be a great blessing. God Bless

Revelation 12
"1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." KJV

Rev 12 Bride and manchild

Hi!ok here is what I believe the Lord has revealed to me about this ( in part because it would be too much altogether)

the woman is the church or spiritual israel ( not physical israel ) in the end times at the beginning of the tribulation. the manchild she is baring is Christ in His people. SO at the beginning of the tribulation the church will have a smaller number of people who bare the full fruit of Christ in themselves they are the manchild ministry. The woman goes into the tribulation ( wilderness) just as mary and joseph did with jesus when he was born, this is where they are tried and where ( as in the wilderness of the israelites with moses -the israelites being a shadow of the church in the end and moses as the manchild)this is where the church has to seperate in all ways from the world and learn to trust in only God for ALL things. the flood is false doctorines and false revival that will stir up in the harlot who will not go into the wilderness and will decieve many washing them away but Gods people in the wilderness will be saved from it- i can answer more about this later and give scriptures if you r interested just let me know

I am inclined to believe that this may have a great deal to do with one child rule china.

If a day is equal to 1000 years starting from 3,500 BC, then 1,500 AD to 2,500 Ad is the sixth day. If a day is equal 24 hours, then that would place the creation of man around midday, which would be around about now. It was only in 1979 that one child rule was applied, and if we are to believe that there will be no more curses, then perhaps focus should be on multiply and fill. Oh and a dragon is also very Chinese.

cool Prophecy

OK I can do an in depth explanation if anyone wants but here is a very shalow look at what I believe it is.

A woman in the Prophecy is a church the sun often portrays or represents the glory of GOd. Jesus was the greater light and the moon has been seen by some to reflect this light which is true of the old testament ceramonial law which was a reflection of the full glory of GOd desplayed in Jesus Christ. thus the moon under the feet because this was the foundation or where it came from and the sun now clothing this woman (church) GOds glory. The word crown here is stephanos which means victory. the 12 stars can and probably are representative of both the 12 patriachs and the 12 apostles because by both were the things of GOd given both in the old ceramonial law byt the patriachs eg moon and by the apostles who were tought by Jesus eg the sun. by the way Israel was called the church in the wilderness.

then we are taken back to the fall of satan from heaven when He brought one third of the angels with Him. look at the descriptions given to this dragon you will notice much similarity and connection to the beasts els where in rev and also daniel.

notice that satan used Herod to try kill Jesus when He was born but GOd protected Him. and it is Jesus that will rule all the nations with an iron scepter and was in fact taken up to heaven after His ressarection to sit at the Fathers right hand REv 12:5

now in vers 6 we see the church after Jesus had ascended being persicuted by the satanic power. 1260 days which happens to be the middle ages also known as the dark ages which spanned for 1260 years a day for a year in prophecy. 538ad to 1798ad in the french revolution when the Papacy fell and the age of reason n all that stuff. Gods true people were protected then although many fell God did not let His people or truth be wiped out.

In vers 7 we see typical way of writing in the greek culture we have gone back to the same point as vers3 and 4 but with a little more detail to fully expalin who or what is happening.and again the story is repeated times time and half a time now remember this is a jewish calander time setting so time is one year which is 360 days becasue they had 12 months of 30 days each. times is 2 years or 620 days and half a time is 180 days half a year. so added together is 1260 days or years so it is the same time period.

so the whole story is repeated agian with more insight thatn the first time or maybe diff insite adding details. and shows at vers 17 that the dragon or satan is angry at those who obey God and have faith in Jesus. then there is verse 13 which tells us more about this power who will attack after Jesus ascended and agian in the 13 chapter the 1260 days is mentioned again but as 42 months youll work it out do the math. so as you see we are given more and more detail so as to be able to see the truth of the end and how it came to be this way. blessings
