If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up. (Job 22:23)

Eliphaz, in this utterance, spoke a great truth, which is the summary of many an inspired Scripture. Reader, has sin pulled you down? Have you become like a ruin? Has the hand of the Lord gone out against you so that in estate you are impoverished and in spirit you are broken down? Was it your own folly which brought upon you all this dilapidation? Then the first thing to be done is to return to the Lord. With deep repentance and sincere faith find your way back from your backsliding. It is your duty, for you have turned away from Him whom you professed to serve. It is your wisdom, for you cannot strive against Him and prosper. It is your immediate necessity, for what He has done is nothing compared to what He may do in the way of chastisement, since He is Almighty to punish.

See what a promise invites you! You shall be “built up.” None but the Almighty can set up the fallen pillars and restore the tottering walls of your condition; but He can and He will do it if you return to Him. Do not delay. Your crushed mind may quite fail you if you go on to rebel; but hearty confession will ease you, and humble faith will console you. Do this, and all will be well.

Satan has no old happy people. We need to learn this principle: Satan gives his best first and his worst last, but Jesus gives the best first and even then it gets better. Everyone of us could write two volumes. One on the goodness of God and on the mercy of God. We could write about the goodness of God which has met our failures. His goodness is His provision for the good times and His mercy is His provision for the bad times. Goodness takes care of my steps and mercy takes care of my stumbles. Yet, all of our days must come to a close - "all the days of my life." Yet, when our days are over we can still say, "The best is yet to come! To die is gain. We will dwell in the House of the Lord."

Jesus is not a separatist
.
He built bridges; not walls.
He even bridged the gap between heaven and earth.
He dinned with "tax collectors and sinners"
and he was called a friend of sinners.
he came to seek and save the lost,
not to brand then separate from them.

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

With Christ Jesus in are live this is possible for all of us, the Lord is crazy about you! What is most valuable, is not what we have in our lives, but WHO we have in our lives! "To God be the Glory."

I would just like to note some scriptures here, Job 1:6-12 and John 9 the whole chapter. Its not always the reason of Sin that our life circumstances is the way its is (Its our reaction that can lead to Sin). But the circumstances that the Lord allows are for His Glory, to enlighten others and bring us closer to God. ( John 15:22 and John 9:39-41) as disciples of Christ we should be building each other up with the truth of Gods Word, that includes rebuking (Proverbs 27:5-6, Prov 3:11-12 and Prov 15:5)

The Scriptures speak of three major categories of "trouble" for the believer: 1) discipline, judgment, or rebuke from the Lord; 2) tests, trials, and suffering; and 3) temptations or attacks from Satan. So when trouble comes, what type is it? Some kinds of trouble can be avoided and some cannot. Each requires a different response from Scripture! So how can the type of trouble be discerned? Is this God directly moving to correct me, or is this persecution for His Name, or is Satan behind the trouble?

I'll leave the questions, to be answer for your self. (Matthew 13:13)

As a backslider myself, just a little Food for thought. No matter what you did in life, Jesus is always there for you. All you have to do is call on his name and let the Holy Spirit Guild you back into a Fruitful life of His service. It's never to late to heal the broken hearted. Let your Life be a testimony of His Love for all of US.
