They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them. Psalm 78:11 NIV

Have you ever spent time with your family looking at old scrapbooks, watching old vacation videos, or talking and recounting pleasant memories from the past? Doing so can be a wonderful way to strengthen family bonds.

It’s good to do the same thing with your Father in heaven. In scores of scripture verses (ten in Deuteronomy alone), God encourages His people to not forget the amazing things He had done for them in the past. He encouraged and challenged the people to remember His goodness so that they wouldn’t be tempted to turn away from Him. The same thing is true today.

Take the time to recall and revel in God’s goodness to you over the years. Think about the moment He saved you and made you part of His eternal family. Remember the times He has helped you out of terrible jams. And consider those amazing instances when it was obvious He had moved on your behalf as a direct result of prayer.

Doing these things can strengthen your faith. And they can also give you good reasons to smile.

Prayer: Perfect God, never let me forget the amazing things You have done for me, starting with making me one of Your own. That way, I’ll have the faith to believe You and trust You and ask You to do the things I know You want to do.

Hi Christ forever, Many of us don't have those memories. I don't have any photo's of my youth, of my family or of myself, and when my parents were alive we seldom spent time together. However, over the years I have come to appreciate many things, the fact that I was born. That was a gift worth having, the perfectionist trait I inherited from my Father, along with his honesty, that I didn't, in my youth, appreciate, and my mother who was always kind but neglected us to please my father. My happiness came from the fact that because my parents didn't give us much of their time, I was free to do as I pleased which allowed me to become a free spirit, although, on occasions, an unwise one. Many years later when Jesus found me and gave me eternal life, my life changed and I started to appreciate a father who met all my needs as a son and, in my years of adventurous travels and relying on my music to survive he has never let me down. My life has been miracle after miracle and I live in constant praise. Would that everyone could experience him. bless you.

Greeting brother, thank you for sharing your message above.

Like Trevor in some ways I confirm I don't have those memories, the family I was in was a mess in so many ways, we don't take pictures when being abused, for one reason the camera would be smashed up. Even later in my life I tore up pictures of certain people and myself, I hated my picture being taken.

Later in life when I got a degree, I disposed of the pictures with certificate, and all the ceremonial rig, I hated me.

My wife sadly does not have many pictures with me on them. Since accepting the Lord, after the long period of counselling, the Lord has done many things in my life, but the damage of the past remains, you cannot bring back pictures torn to pieces in the past.

I thank the Lord for everything He has done for me, I certainly wasn't worthy, I wonder at times why me, not why me for suffering, but why me, why would God save me? Salvation is the greatest miracle to happen for any living soul.

Dear Brothers, @Trevor @Brother-Paul
I can relate as it pertains to the difficulties of life in ones youth and so know how hard it is to share of them with others. Almost as if we blame ourselves for them (heavy sigh). So, a thank-you both Dear Brothers for sharing bits and pieces here, that in some way may let others who read your words. Know that though all that happened to us was not joyful and loving. That God, in Christ Jesus has provided us what we in those dark days could never have imagined existing much less having. The Love of a Perfect Heavenly Father!

Even as He looked over us, through the darkest of days in our lives. We now know that He choose us, and that the past will never be an impediment to the Glorious future that awaits us in Christ Jesus! So, picture that, and rejoice!!

Love you both brothers, and again thanks for sharing of yourselves.
With the Love of Christ Jesus, brotherly hugs to you both.

I don't think it awaits us Nick, I believe it's ours now if we believe and stand on his Word. Bless you.
