Reflections of Jesus
If I would die, yet were to live,
What part of me would e’er survive?
What in forever’s time to give,
Though long since dead, to be alive?
Would it be reflections sweet,
Of sunlit waters o’er a lake
Called Love, which drew me there to meet
A love which loved me for my sake?
Yet for nothing that I did,
A child re-born was dressed in white,
And in Love’s robes forever hid
Yet, forever in Love’s Light.
Would I leave like sunlight's beam
Some small remembrance in a heart,
Soft as moonlight in it’s dream,
That death may hide, but never part?
A kindness or a gentle hand
That covered yours throughout the years,
Would not be mine to fall or stand
Save one who first removed my tears.
Mercy came from long ago
When first He saw me from the cross,
And drew me to His heart to know,
He is the Shepherd of the lost.
Grace beheld me on the shore,
Forgiveness claimed my heart to live,
In Him I am forever more,
What then shall I leave to give?
A Love whose breath is Life to share

For Love came down to find us there,
