Reality?
Reality can only be found in a place that never changes! This world is “real”, but it is not reality because it is constantly changing, and passing away!
1Jn 2:17 And THE WORLD IS PASSING AWAY along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (ESV)
The only thing that is never changing, or passing away is God himself!!
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Mal 3:6 For I AM THE LORD, I CHANGE NOT; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
If God never changes, neither does his Kingdom that he rules over, or his subjects of that Kingdom!
Jesus told his Apostles.....
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The word, “truth” means “reality”. The word, “way” means, “highway”. The word, “life” means, “the God kind of life”
If you add all these words together we get Jesus saying, “I am the highway to the reality of the God kind of life”
The reality of this kind of life can only be received and experienced through the cross! Not only did Jesus die on the cross for us, he died so that we who were in him at that time would also die with him on his cross!!!! (Gal 2:20)
Gal 2:20 I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Nobody was saved when Jesus died on the cross two thousand years ago!!! Salvation was not possible until Jesus had risen from the dead!!
1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 And IF CHRIST BE NOT RAISED, YOUR FAITH IS VAIN; YE ARE YET IN YOUR SINS.
The resurrection was the “highway” that Jesus made for us to be able to come into the father's presence!!!!
Heb 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20 BY THE NEW AND LIVING WAY that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,
There is that word again, “way” which means, “highway”, but now it is a “living highway”!!
Why would it be called a living highway? Because when Jesus was raised up from the dead, we were also raised up together with him into God the father's presence!!!!!
Col 1:21 And you, estranged as you once were and even hostile in your minds, amidst your evil deeds,
Col 1:22 HE HAS NOW, IN HIS HUMAN BODY, RECONCILED TO GOD BY HIS DEATH, TO BRING YOU, HOLY AND FAULTLESS AND IRREPROACHABLE, INTO HIS PRESENCE; (Weymouth)
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, HATH QUICKENED US TOGETHER WITH CHRIST, (by grace ye are saved )
