Here are some "Bible" verses I've heard over the last month or so. These are just a few examples

God helps those who help themselves.

We will all cast our crowns down before him.

Jesus said "draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you".

The earth will dissolve like snow (this was in a song)

Now, I know many of us have computers and cell phones that let us search for verses, but without cheating can you tell me which of the verses above are actually in the Bible? Do you have other examples of these types of "Bible" verses.

Hello B-A-C.

Wondering where does God say 'God helps those who help themselves.''

LOL - So am I.

Another one.. is Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

That sounds like a carry over from the Pharisees. And yeah, I heard them all. Some of them paraphrase scripture without quoting it. Like throwing our crowns before him, and the drawing near to Him. I didn't put up the actual verses they refer to, as I would have to search for them on a bible search program.

James 4:8; Is James talking about God, now I know Jesus is God, but still it's a technicality to say it's a quote from Jesus.
Psa 75:3; Is where the quote in the song comes from.

None of the others are in the Bible. Others are partial verses mixed with other verses ( Such as John 12:32; and Rev 4:10; )

Some are close, are partial verses.

Rev 4:10-11
10the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Rev 4:10-11

Another commonly misquoted verse.
You often hear that we will ALL cast our crowns down at His feet. But does this verse say 'everyone' or a select group of a few people?

I did say paraphrased. And who do you think those 24 elders are?

I know some believe they are the raptured church. I do not, I tend to be more fundamental about Revelation.
One thing that is interesting, if it the raptured church, then the rapture will definitely happen pre-trib.
While I believe in the rapture, and I also lean towards pre-trib, I think the 24 elders are actually 24 beings.
There is some metaphorical language in Revelation, but I lean towards most of it is literal. (i.e. I believe there will really be flying stinging scorpions, and 250 million horsemen, and flaming meteors falling from the sky, there is really a lampstand in heaven that represent the 7 churches, there really will be two prophets witnessing that will die, the beast is really a human being, etc.. )

I agree with most of what you say. But I think the 24 elders are the top 24 humans of faith and works that have lived down throughout time. I think God will choose them, and that's why Christ said it was up to the Father who was at his right and left. I wont be among them, but I bet I could pick at least a few who would be chosen, like Abraham, Enoch, Moses, Elijah, and John the Baptist. I could be wrong about this, but it just sounds right. If I could guess, it would be 12 OT characters, and 12 new testament characters. They greatest of the faithful among humans who despite their being chosen as elders, throwing all their crown before the throne.
