Rapturing people to heaven is not new to biblical history. It has already occurred three times.
Enoch:
Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him. (Genesis 5:24). The New Testament adds, By faith Enoch was translated so he did not see death., and was not found because God had taken him; for before his translation he had his testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5)
Elijah:
And it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a Chariot of Fire appeared with horses on fire, and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven (2 Kings 2:11)
Jesus Christ:
He was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight.....this same Jesus, who was taken up from you in heaven, will so come in a like manner as you saw him go into heaven (Acts 1: 9-11)

All three events describe a body of flesh being changed and translated into the presence of God.No one saw Enoch,'s translation. He was walking on the earth and the next moment he was translated Elijah's rapture was witnessed by Elisha. And when our Lord was translated to heaven he was seen by the Apostles.

Thank you RJ for defending the Rapture of Saints into Glory. The Rapture, or Gathering faithful believers to God in Heaven has indeed been witnessed by those who were left on this earth. I might even point out the fact that some are taken and some are left which is a future picture of the final Rapture of Christ's faithful followers out of the Church to be with Him, while some will be left behind to face the Tribulation.
