It is so easy...so very easy... for the cares and pleasures of life to overtake our minds...it does not matter how spiritual a man thinks himself to be...along with each new day comes this thing or that to drive the mind to distraction...not that we have ceased to walk with God ...or have even ceased to be in conversation with Him...but at the end of the day take stock of how much of our thoughts were consumed with earthly things...and how little with the mind of the Spirit...
Mar 4:19 And the cares of this life, and the deceits of wealth, and the desire for other things coming in, put a stop to the growth of the word, and it gives no fruit.
Oh let us not let our souls be imprisoned by these things but shake them off like the chains they are...I know 'we must occupy until He comes'...we must pound a nail here and there, and we all have jobs to do...but we are like men who plan to take a trip to a beautiful vacation spot in the near future....who would not with such a plan, very excitedly tell everyone we know what our plans are...work and save all our money for that trip....everything we do would be centered around those plans.......yet here we are ...supposed to be preparing to go to our Fathers house...and our minds are so occupied with the here and now...
1Jn 2:15 Have no love for the world or for the things which are in the world. If any man has love for the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 Because everything in the world, the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world and its desires is coming to an end: but he who does God's pleasure is living for ever.
Heb 11:13 It was in faith that all these persons died. They did not receive the things God had promised, but from a long way off they saw them and welcomed them, and admitted openly that they were foreigners and refugees on earth.
Heb 11:14 Those who say such things make it clear that they are looking for a country of their own.
Heb 11:15 They did not keep thinking about the country they had left; if they had, they would have had the chance to return.
Heb 11:16 Instead, it was a better country they longed for, the heavenly country. And so God is not ashamed for them to call him their God, because he has prepared a city for them.
Oh glory to my God! Adam and Eve were ashamed of themselves in the garden....and attempted to bury themselves in the foliage of the earth....but still He came calling their names...Brother and Sister, where are you...the Spirit is calling us ...
Rev 22:12 "See! I am coming soon! My reward is with me to repay everyone according to his work.
Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
Rev 22:14 How blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city!
Rev 22:15 Outside are dogs, sorcerers, immoral people, murderers, idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Rev 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give this testimony to you for the churches. I am the root and descendent of David, the bright morning star."
Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" Let everyone who hears this say, "Come!"
