Prophecy of Crucifixion

God has been trying to get my attention about this for the past week and a half. First they preached about it at my church. Then I read about it on the website about the Shroud of Turin. THEN! (lol) I picked up a book at the library and they wrote about it! It's amazing me. Plus, my friend thinks God is using me to talk to her about it because He keeps revealing it to me.

Psalm 22
1
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?
7
All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads:
8
"He trusts in the LORD ; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him."
16
Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.
17
I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me.
18
They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

What's amazing is that this was AT LEAST 700 years before crucifixion was invented!

Yes isn't it true that Jesus birth and life on earth was predicted(prophesized) so long before it happened.

Who else in any other religion can claim this? It just shows us how alive our God is !!!

And Psalm 22 is very popular when it comes to discussions of prophecy. It is so powerful, just a tiny glimpse of the total awesom Word of GOD over all!

Check ou the threads in the evidence and prophecy forum. You'll be amazed really. The sticky threads are mind blowing

WingedGrace,

Thanks for posting.....I LOVE Psalm 22....the first time I read it, I was amazed.

Our pastor has actually been preaching a series of sermons entitled "God's Redemptive Plan," which analyzes all of the prophecies of Christ set forth in the Old Testament. It has been spiritually eye-opening to me.

Amazing to think that as a child (before I was saved), I was taught that the Old Testament was meaningless to Christians. What a lie.

Anyway, thanks again for posting!

Another amazing prophesy is Isaiah 52:13 thru 53:12 (written aprox 712bc). The Old Testament points to Christ.
