Promises - Crown of Life

Staff Member
Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12)

Find your strength in the Gospel promise. Overcome the slings and arrows of the enemy's wrought! Overcome them by the beautiful power of Christ. Trust your salvation to the sovereign hand of God. Persevere, O brothers and sisters, and you shall be welcomed with great fortune of riches! The crown of life shall be granted you and you shall glorify the Lamb! Love God for He first loved you!

And how do we endure temptation? How do we overcome the onslaught of the enemy within us? What was it that Jesus did? Did he not fall back always on that which proceedeth out of the mouth of God?

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4

And it is by His Word that we are fed. Understanding that "temptation" is not something unique to oneself.
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Realizing also that this is also a spiritual battle against the flesh.
"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41
Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Galatians 6:1

So, importantly let us "Pray" that we are not tempted or fall to it!
When He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." Luke 22:40
'And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.'] Matthew 6:13

Knowing as believers that we have one who understands and can help in these times. We do not have to go through it alone, without help!
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16
For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. Hebrews 2:18

Thank-you brother. You make delve deeper into His Word!

Always with the Love of Christ Jesus Dear Brother.
