And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee; Exodus 31:6 KJV

God told Moses what needed to be done to construct and maintain His tabernacle. God chose men who would manage the artistic design, metalwork, and everything else that needed to be made. Today’s verse indicates that God made these men wise. He provided the stability they needed to do a big job for a big God.

This verse also suggests that before these men knew they were chosen, God had given them wisdom. They would need it for the work they would do.

It’s reasonable to conclude that God sometimes uses the lessons you’ve learned to help you do what He needs you to do, but He can also call you first and equip you on the job. Why isn’t there just one way to prepare people for their purpose? Each person is unique—and God isn’t limited in the ways He works.

Gain courage in knowing that God’s good work in your life will not be a copy of someone else’s story. Let God unfold your purpose. Then add it to your story and share it.

Prayer: God, sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever be useful to You. Thanks for the encouragement in Your Word. I know You can work in me to help others in a way that’s personal. Help me stand strong and wait for You.
