Hi guys, sorry I haven't been in TJ for a while but,as I have posted in my Testimony on the testimonies thread, the night I was Saved was the night after 18 years of suicidal depression, and many attempts at it I finally found the way out,Jumping off a local cliff, but as my testimony states,The Lord, bless Him,had other ideas, and I pretty much became a new man over night.I am still very much walking with The Lord, but sadly this old depression of mine has crept back into my life, and for a few months now I have been very ill,not suicidal,as yet,but very ill none the less. So,my brothers and sisters In Christ Jesus, please pray for me for deliverance from this nastiness that tries to wreck my life. Thanks and God bless you all In Jesus blessed name.

Happy to pray for you brother. Remember our lives are not to be built though on emotion. Spend more time in scripture and in prayer. Expect answers from God. You will then get them.

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen
.

Ephesians 3:20-21

Greetings Neil

The devil wants you to be wrecked and miserable....he doesn't want you rejoicing in the joy of your Salvation.

However, our Lord who saved you wants only the best for you.
His word is full of promises that cannot fail.....look to His word and begin praising Him for His unfailing love

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Thee, because He trusteth in Thee
Isaiah 26:3

Keep focused on the Lord and His word .......Claim that perfect peace brother.

He is abundantly able......to keep you

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Jude 1:24-25

He loves you.....depression cannot separate you from that perfect love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8: 35,37-39

Our walk with God will NOT always be what the flesh would see as smooth and easy. What Jesus went through was pain and suffering which no person in his flesh would desire, but the reward according to God was worth it all. This is not to say that we will never be encouraged or given physical and emotional comfort in this natural life that will be applied to this carnal body for we certainly will and we are... The key for Jesus was what He saw in His heart. This should also be our key. We must continuously look to the victory at the end of the road even as we are falling into the worst of potholes.

"When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." Psalm 27:8

I am praying for you.

Thank you all,and The Lord bless you.Your words literally brought tears to my eyes this morning, along with peace and joy after a very tormented night.I praise The Lord for His love and strength given, and I bless Him for His people.God bless you all.

Praise the Lord.....for the peace and joy you experienced when you awoke
Keep looking to Jesus...He who calmed the raging sea can calm your tormented mind and bring peace

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

This is very true. As we journey with the Lord here on earth to eternity, we will continue to experience different kinds of roads and seasons of our life. But the sure thing is Jesus had promised that He would be always there for us, keep watching over our lives.

Reading from a Devotional yesterday, I found these passages challenging and worthy of note:

Be men of courage; be strong. (1Corinthians 16;13)

Never pray for an easier life - pray to be a stronger person! Never pray for tasks equal to your power - pray for power equal to your tasks. Then doing your work will be a miracle. - you will be the miracle. (Phillips Brooks)

We must remember that Christ will not lead us to greatness through an easy or self-indulgent life. An easy life does not lift us up but only takes us down. Heaven is always above us, and we must continually be looking toward it.

Some people always avoid things that are costly, or things that require self-denial, self-restraint, and self-sacrifice. Yet it is hard work and difficulties that ultimately lead us to greatness, for greatness is not found by walking the moss-covered path laid out for us through the meadow. It is being found by being sent to carve out our own path with our own hands.

Are you willing to sacrifice to reach the glorious mountain peaks of God's purposes for you?
(Selected)

Be strong!
We are not here to play, to dream, to drift;
We have hard work to do, and loads to lift,
Shun not the struggle; face it.
It's God's gift.

Be strong! Say not the days are evil - Who's to blame
Or fold your hands, as in defeat - O shame!
Stand up, speak out, and bravely,
In God's name.

Be strong!
It matters not how deep entrenched the wrong,
How hard the battle goes, the day how long,
Faint not, fight on! Tomorrow comes the song. (MALTBIE D. BABCOCK)

August 03 Devotional
From "Streams In the Dessert" by L.B.Cowman

Praying Bro. that you will continue find your strength in the Lord in going through each and every difficult roads and season which Divine Providence may allow in your path to eternity.

Every time depression and torment wants to creep in, the very first thing I do is to know its cause so I could confront it immediately and shake it off with proper action, command to leave me alone in the name of Jesus and by the power of His Word. Hehe. Amen

So much blessing from our Lord Jesus Christ,

TWO
