I'm posting a prayer request for my sister, brother and my ex.
All of them are among the lost. My sister claims she received Christ as a child at the Methodist church down the street from the family home. But she stated she wasn't sure if she were saved or not! I believe she was just doing it because she felt it was something she should do. I believe 'if you aren't sure, you aren't saved'. She desperately needs Christ in her life and doesn't realize it. This is the sister who is living with me after another sister threw her out of the family home after the death of our mother. This, in spite of the fact that the first sister took care of mom the last years of her life.
My brother is an alcoholic who still lives in the family home (I'm calling it the family home, though in fact, it belongs to the sister who threw Kat out. She drew him into her little conspiracy to destroy Kat). I do not have a clue if he's ever had the opportunity to accept Christ, but I just have a strong feeling he hasn't. Or either he's ignored them. He stays in his room, and drinks, and I believe he smokes pot, too. He never goes anywhere anymore, except to work. It's a pitiful, isolated life and my heart grieves for him.
My ex is a true lost soul. He's never accepted Christ, and I don't know if anyone has ever talked to him about it. When we were together, it was while I was in a back-slidden state, so though, sometimes we discussed the subject, I guess I felt I wasn't good enough to witness to him. Before his mother died in '97, she asked him what he wanted from her. He told her "Just hold the door open for me, Mom.", meaning the door to heaven. I reminded him of that once and said, "She can hold that door open for all eternity, but YOU have to go through it!" She can't do that for him. He agreed, but he still lives his sinful life.
He's supposed to come over to borrow my little tiller today. I'm planning to let him know about Christ. Pray for me that I won't scare him off (He tends to get on my nerves, as he has this arrogant attitude that can really rub me the wrong way!)
I'm asking any of you who feel moved by the Spirit to pray for these souls, and me to help in whatever way (even if God doesn't want me to do something, maybe in an indirect way?) to reach them.
Thanking in advance, and to God be the glory!
