Thank you for the prayers to give up Smoking.

I am now smoke free for nearly 10 weeks.
I feel confident enough for the next step which is to give up alcohol.

I am by no means an alcoholic (though my Father was). In fact I only drink maybe 1 or twice a week.
However there are times in my life where I have drunk too much and done foolish things that have caused heartache.
Though the bible doesn't explicitly say drinking is a sin, being drunk for someone with a weak will (like me) is foolish and leads to sin. I hate foolishness and I hate it even more when i'm the fool!

So on my 10 week non smoking anniversary on Thursday, I am going to stop drinking.

I need prayer to keep my conviction strong and for me to follow through and not be tempted, no matter what the situation is.

Father, I pray for wisdom and strength as I embark on this new journey. I thanks you from the bottom of my heart for revealing the truth and grace of your existence through Jesus. I pray that your Holy Spirit fill me so I no longer desire these things which the flesh desires. I also pray for all the famlies who have been grieved by drink, all the relationships ruined by drink and the mistakes made because of drink. I pray for healing and hope in all these situations. In Jesus name. Amen

Glad to pray for you brother. I would encourage your next step after your victory in Jesus (over stopping drinking), to pray about knowing your spiritual gifts and to have the courage to use them as often as the opportunity arises. This gift is the gift God gives all believers to purposely help in the building of both believers and even nonbelievers to come to the faith.

Praying that God will strengthen you as you walk with Him in these things.
