I am on the board of directors for a ministry in my area. The ministry itself is doing really well. What I am asking for prayer is this:
Last month at our meeting, another board member said that we should be tithing 10% to other ministries. I never thought about it, but I agreed that it was good. So now we are trying to find one or two different ministries that would benefit. (Our local church has people who give offerings to this ministry, so the pastor did not think it was a good idea to tithe it back to the church).
My biggest concern is the possible division it could cause us if everyone has different choices. There are different ministries being proposed, one that does different things in the kingdom of God; and one that does similar things that we do, except in Russia; evangelisms; etc.
This should be a joy and not a cause for concern, but that's where I'm at right now. It isn't that it's a lot of money, we're talking $10-100 a month, it's that our hearts need to be right. We all should have joy and peace before the first check is sent.
Pray for the heart and mind of Christ... and wisdom to make a choice of one or more.
