My husband and I want to buy a house and we've looked at tons in the beginning of 2011 but it was a disaster, short sales and foreclosures, and after we put an offer on one home, the inspector told us it has 2 water damages, it needed tons of work so we walked away from at the last minute and we stopped looking. We've moved to another state and we want to look again, we want to start a family soon and we live in a one bedroom apartment. Please pray for us, I should be excited by I'm scared and scarred from the last house hunt we've had, we don't have a huge budget but all we want is a small but well-built home.

I pray that God will be the leader in all decisions, that you both will choose a house within your budget not beyond, for nobody knows what tomorrow have in store. And you don't want to end up having to give up your home. That you both would allow his holy spirit to direct you and help you choose a home dedicated for his glory and not to get praises from men. That he will increase your finances and put you in a position to make a purchase. I pray you will hear his voice and make this purchase on his timing and not yours.

Sister I hope you both do this wisely, as a young couple you don't want to put yourself in a position where money will become a problem. Be patient the kids are not here yet, use this time to save more money, if your rental is to high find a more affordable one. When you purchase a house there are new expenses as a renter you never paid. Take advantage of this financial freedom you have as renters, save, travel before the kids come and enjoy each other. There's a house out there for you no matter when you decide to buy it. Just wait on God and trust me he'll give you everything in that house and more on his time.

Debt is very easy to create but becoming debt free is hard.

Thank you for the prayer sister! We're definitely not going to rush into buying a house, we'll take our time and study well, my generous father has given us a big check for our down payment otherwise we couldn't buy now and God is our biggest provider and we're putting our trust in Him!!

I came up on this verse and find it very fitting!

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved." (Psalm 127:1-2)

Sister Property, this thought just came unto me,you can judge for yourself if this is the Lord or not.Check some nice areas,and find a Church that may be of interst to you,they may be able to give you a good idea of where to look around them,or in another area.My prayers are of course with you.

Update!

Thanks for all your prayers, God listened! We found a beautiful house in Naperville, IL. It's a great suburbs 45 minutes away from Chicago. We put an offer and it was accepted and today the inspection came out good!

If all goes well we close come this November.

Thanks very much and praise the lord for all His blessings.
