God has saved me from two addictions. One being porn and the second being masturbation, but I still suffer. I have impure thoughts and I have prayed to God and I am reading his word , but a few more prayers in my behalf wouldn't hurt. Thank you.

Dear Friend InProgression.

Welcome to t.j. Such as you mention is not uncommon today. Society appears to be given over to personal indulgence and sensual desire......the venders grow rich.

I can only advise that you snap out of your hallucination and get into what Jesus offers. That would be the baptism in the Holy Ghost and an encounter with God.

Please do not rest until you have found this experience. I can tell you you that if you are prepared to search, to join with holy Spirit filled people......to seek Him like you have never sought Him before............

When you find........Believe me.....it will burn up the dross.

I have struggled with this as well. I will pray for you. The beautiful thing is that we are dead to sin when we were batised spiritually in christ Jesus. And alive to righteousness, may you now be a slave to righteousness and yield your members to good deeds and your sins be washed away!! In Jesus name AMEN!

Hey, i struggled with that until i really put an effort forth to conquor it. I know it will be hard, but it is worth it. Philippians 2:12, "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

What worked for me was to, on purpose, stay on task, and keep in the Word. So, I would have my head stuck in my Bible every chance I got. I soaked up as much of God's Word as I could, until my mind was renewed. It really works, but it takes diligence. Because I was not used to disciplining myself, but giving in so easily, i had to develop this new habit. It's the only thing that will work for you, and if you are serious about breaking your bad habits, you MUST replace them with new ones.

Believe me, it's not as easy as "receiving the Holy Ghost." I don't mean to be crossing any of the above posts regarding this, but one thing I know is if you are immersing yourself in His Word, you WILL receive the Holy Spirit because of it, most likely. "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you." Matt 6:33

I don't think doing what I suggested is considered "works" as in trying to get to heaven by doing works. I think "working out your salvation with fear and trembling" is required. I'm sure if I am wrong, someone will straighten me out. lol

However, I've paid for my bad habit. In a way, it's a good thing, but I've found out I have to continue this good habit of staying in the Word, or else I fall back into temptation. It's sorta like an alcoholic . . . you have to stay away from places that serve drinks and replace it with other places in order to be successful. Stay busy, always be about your Father's business.

If you choose to accept this assignment, I'm confident that you will lick these bad habits. It will be hard work, but the rewards are outa this world! GBU

Dear,
I am a member of t.j. that frequents the net rarely, but i have a whole experience on the subject. It is a problem, and has a solution. I bet you i am 26 today, having suffered from masturbation for half of my life. I am completely free today, and i tell you, Jesus can set you free. Porn is another different story altogether. i would not mind sending you a long message to share my experience and give you some tips, but hear me well: it begins with your mind, and an audacious vibrant unflinching decision to want to give up the habits- that's what i call them. If you have gotten to that point, then we can chat. The Lord give you strength to overcome, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hi InProgression,

I m glad that Holy Spirit God has not only helped you to realize the mistake but also he is constantly helping you to come out of it.
Talk to God every now and tell him that you don't want to lose him bcoz of simple pleasures of this earth. Tell him everything you feel (I mean Everything), I guarantee he will understand every situation and turn that into a blessing. ( that's Jesus)

You will be happy to know that " Jesus is so very happy to know that you want to turn away from sin to gain his Presence and Love in your life"

You are now his very special possession because he knows you are in " InProgress"..
