Old-earth creationism (just google it!) has been around for a LONG time, as an alternative theological option for conservative Bible-believing Christians. As an example, check out Reasons to Believe, Dr. Hugh Ross. His ministry has promoted conservative Evangelical Bible-affirming old-earth creationism for decades.
