Transformed By God
Lord all of your laws, I have transgressed
I am a perfect example of imperfectness
I’ve lied, I’ve stolen, and I’ve blasphemed your name
These things I have done, again and again.
I have lusted and hated, and coveted too
All of these things Lord, have I done against you
You’re perfect Law in all of its glory,
Have I taken and broken, without feeling sorry
In all of your wisdom, you gave me a conscience
One that I stifled, and smothered, and passed off as nonsense.
Every time I did wrong, I knew it to be
A sin against you, but that didn’t stop me
A love for my sin, kept pushing me deeper
Into a deep pit of filth, with the walls getting steeper.
I didn’t want out; I wallowed in the mire,
Held by my sin and unlawful desire
“I’ll grow up yet” I said “I still have time”
“Let me have fun now” was my constant cry.
Only as time did its work, and I saw people dying
Did I suddenly see, I had a reason for crying
I was destined for hell, for all eternity
For laws that I have broken, I could now see.
It was my entire fault, and you had the right,
To cast me to hell, if you took me that night.
You are perfect and good, holy and just
In you is no darkness, cast out sin you must
Like a fire burns a leaf, sin you must destroy
Wickedness cast away, cast away like a toy
Lord I cried out like Cain, “This is too much to bear,
Is there any other way, Lord I know that you care.
Anything you ask lord, that I will do
If you would just please forgive me, I will serve you.
It was then I heard, the most glorious news
Christ is risen, and God can forgive you.
Your sins have been paid for, by the blood of the lamb
Repent and believe God, He will make you a new man.
Through His Holy Spirit, and His endless love
Let him change your heart, change it from above
God will save you and its God that will keep
He is awesome and strong even when we are weak
I learned works will not save me, but God’s strength alone
Can save someone who, down hell’s path has gone.
God gets the glory, and God gets the praise
I got life eternal, and I got it that day
This poem of praise I sing unto God
For leading me down new paths never trod
Now when before that great throne I stand
I will be forgiven, by the blood of the Lamb.
This forgiveness is free, to all who desire
Repentance and faith, is all that’s required
A genuine sorrow, for breaking God’s laws
God will save you, and he’ll do it because
Jesus paid your fine, He paid it in full
Justice has been served, and deaths’ lost its pull
Your past life behind you, you’ll been born again
Transformed from God’s enemy, into God’s friend.
What do you all think? Pretty clear isn't it?
