Has anyone ever tried their absolute best to be perfect to God? I mean not the church taught “10 commandments” but the statutes, ordinances, laws, given throughout the Bible and Jesus says not a jot or a tittle of the law will pass away, so ... they are all still in affect. Not just the 10 someone picked. Deuteronomy, Leviticus, those laws are insane and are still in affect. Accept for this one verse that says that Jesus is a mediator of a new covenant Hebrews 9:15 so ... maybe they aren’t all in affect, are any of them in affect? What do we do since we cannot be perfect and even our thoughts count as sin? Lust, anger, etc. being human is a sin. What do we do to please God? I need help understanding please.

There is only one way to please God......

Heb 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (NLT)

The word "perfect" does NOT mean to be "sinless", it means to be "mature". Abraham was perfect, but not by being sinless, but by believing (having faith) in God "perfectly." Abraham believed (had faith) in what God told him, and it was accredited to him as "righteousness." (Gen 15:5-6)

James 4:6
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

I do not think we can grace from God with out pleasing him, so in a round about way to answer I use the above scripture to say we better be humble if we have any chance of pleasing him. We know for sure you have no possible way of pleasing him if you are proud.

Psalm 25:9
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

You please God best simply by getting to know Him! Study His Word. The Word IS God. Jesus is the Word in the flesh.
Second..Do your best to obey His Word and
Third...Faith that He loves you and is working in you to make you the person He wants you to be, even more than you want to be.

To put that into its most basic terms....If you love Him you will obey Him and trust Him.
Ok? Don't worry about the don'ts and concentrate on the do's. LOL If you concentrate on doing the do's you won't have time to do the don'ts.

Well, I’ve studied the new testiment a lot. Matthew, mark, Luke, John is a good one. then all of Paul’s letters from acts, Roman’s, corinthians, etc ... seems like Paul says we need to have faith in Jesus and just having faith that He rose again will save you. Jesus keeps saying “keep the commandments, follow me.” When the disciples ask who can be saved? He replies, with man this is impossible, with God anything is possible. Im just confused because everyone says NO you have to do good until you die or you will go to hell. But what about the thief on the cross next to Jesus? That guy went to “paradise” with Jesus. That doesn’t sound like hell. Or is it a waiting place until the final judgement where he probably will go to hell? The old testiment is even more terrifying. God “Jesus” they are the same correct? The book of “John” says they are ... so, Jesus in the old testiment was so angered by the people with Moses and killed them sometimes because he grew increasingly impatient with them. Jesus has to keep getting stopped by Moses because Moses was like hey, calm down I will speak with them. It seems like I will be sent to hell because I am not any better than the people Jesus got impatient with. The way that Jesus picked on Job, and tricked and tests Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his son then an angel yells and stops him right before he does it. How can I know that Jesus loves me? I study the Bible and that is where my fear is coming from. Learning about these stories, learning that there are actually more canonical books of the Bible that were removed due to Roman Catholic government. The book of Enoch was discovered to have been in cave along with the Dead Sea scrolls. Jude actually quotes a verse from the book of Enoch. Who got to pick which books were canonical or not? Why is the Bible not complete like God wanted it to be? Books have been removed and now people aren’t sure which ones are canonical or not. Which ones are inspired by God and which ones are not. What do I do with all of this information that I have learned from the Bible and further reading of these books. Saying, “read the word” is the exact same thing as “I don’t know, go figure it out.” I am afraid of God and afraid of Hell. I have not been convinced that I am able to be saved. I feel unworthy, un-trusting, I feel like Jesus would say, “you didn’t follow me blindly like you were supposed to.” Then send me to hell. How can I talk myself out of that feeling? Faith is jumping off the cliff blindfolded and hoping for a bouncy house at the bottom.” I just want to peak from my blindfold to see, but I feel like peeking is a sin. You aren’t supposed peek. You are supposed to have blind faith. So ... I guess I’ll try. What else am I supposed to do? What other hope or chance to I have?

U don't talk yourself out of the feeling of going to hell. Fear of hell is what causes us to obey God's commandments. If didn't believe in God or have faith in him we wouldn't obey his law anyway. By doing so, it shows God that you care and he can call you his child. Love appears when Jesus saves you from you're old sinful habits that were tearing you apart. This love comes after death, after you lose what you love. Then you can climb our of your tomb, like Jesus did, and love for sacrifice. Just as Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross. This is what we need. Death from our sins, birth by Jesus, fear of God to obey law, repentance by living for God and fishing for men, and love

How can I fish for men when I don’t grasp the logic of what is needed for salvation? I need to understand how to save myself before I can explain it to others. How do I gain salvation? Do I be as good as possible even though God says it is impossible and that all of my righteousness is as filthy rags in his eyes? How do I do the thing that he says is impossible for me to do? How could I describe that to someone else and expect them to understand when I don’t understand?

Are we going to be able to discern who is the devil and his angels and God and his angels when we die? The devil is able to deceive us, how will we know who the real God is and who is mimicking an angel of light?

If you truly believe in Jesus, the afterlife, Satan, demons, hell, heaven ... these things have got to freak you out! right? Nobody knows how to answer these things and nobody knows the truth. They only have a predetermined belief of what they have been taught is the truth. I don’t understand the logic. I don’t understand why God messed with Job and Abraham like that. Why is Satan allowed so much power when God wants to test people but then the Bible says that’s God doesn’t test people, but God does “allow” Satan to test people. It’s the same thing and it’s so confusing.

What?! Loving God is what drives us to obey Him...We have no fear of hell because we are NOT going there. The Word says we love God because He loved us FIRST... We don't love Him because we're afraid of hell,or because we're afraid of Him or because of rewards or punishments...We love Him because He loves us.
Hell is not even in our thinking unless we decide to reject God and go there.

Its the Word that will perfect you, not you. You only have TWO 2 laws that you have to follow. No more than that.
Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

There, you see? All of the law is based on these two laws...If you will keep these two, you keep all of the other laws by default.

You can relax and enjoy who you are in Him.

oh. So, I’m probably not going to Hell? That’s a relief. You only go to hell if you reject Jesus? So, asking for forgiveness everyday for accidentally cussing in my mind or something petty like that probably wouldn’t matter right? Only if I reject Jesus? That’s a relief actually. Do you think he loves me even though I can’t really do very much for him? I’m not a preacher or anything. Probably best actually, because yeah, I’m all over the place and very confused with this.

LOL No. If you are born again you are not going to hell...One does not go to hell for what they do, but for what they do not do. If one asks Jesus to be their savior and Lord He takes them as His own....Now one lives for him and gets to know Him by spending quality time in His Word....If you slip and do something wrong you are forgiven but it's still a good habit, and good manners, to ask Him to forgive your slip up, and to help you do better.

I have a question.. You say that if your born again through jesus christ that your saved and even if you sin your not going to hell.. Well as far as i can tell there are a few sins that are unpardonable.. Suicide, rejecting jesus christ, and crucifying him again... This is the verse i am referring to
Hebrews 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
Okay so this is what im getting at when i was young even as a toddler without any previous knowledge from other sources i always believed in God when i was 4 i remember telling my mom we are going to church and so we did where i came to find more knowledge about this supreme being of constant love and justice... When i was twelve i felt like i was ready to be baptized and completely accept jesus christ as my saviour.. I cannot describe to you the awesomeness of what i was feeling the very instant my head was dunked under the water and brought back up it was amazing and i never wanted to loose that feeling.. Then i turned into a teenager.. I wanted to be loved by everyone i wanted to be drop dead gorgeous i wanted everyone to ask me out i wanted to be popular i wanted to be rich i was so poor.. I wanted everything this world has to offer.. And guess what i fell hard... First it was very gradual.. I started making friends with the popular kids so i started to act like them.. Then i met a boy when i was fourteen i thought i loved him but in reality i lusted for him all i wanted all the time was him... I forgot to mention that this boy was not a angel far from it he was heavy on drugs which i also got involved in i still use marijauna i struglle with letting it go because of the relaxation it brings me.. The comfort it brings me... The little voice of oh i will always be here for you... Anyways i got lost and regretably i fell so hard... One sin lead to another and another.. This boy that i thiught iwas in love with actually turned out that i was just extremely obssessed with the boy and with the thought of true love.. It was delusional and very unclean.. I realized i didnt have the feelings for him that i thought i had when he went to prison and i slept with his brother multiple occasions while he was dating one of my old friends.. Then i started occasionally prostituting so that i could get alcohol cigarettes weed or cocaine keep in mind i was 15.. I was uncaring towards other people very disrespectful and i thought it was funny and i thought that people deserved my rebellious behaviour.. But aside from all this my question is this.. If you fall away and there is no repentance left for you because you have crucified christ all over again does that mean you have lost your salvation? Does it mean that i am going to hell? I have changed a lot of ways and i am definitely not the same person i used to be i still use drugs but i am trying to quit i am trying to get my life right i am trying to walk with jesus but i know i cant until things are rite... I mean if i die today or tomorrow i am probably going to hell rite?

Becauae God wants to know if you truly love him or if you are justbin fear of your life.. Are you going to curse god the first, second, or third time you are tested by Satan? This is what he wants to know.. Yet at the smae time he is all knowing.. But yet the choice still lies with you there is always two choices he wants to know what you will pick.. He wants to know that even though Satan has raped or Satan stole everything you had in the blink of an eye.. That you are still standing strong and always seeking him.. In all ways love him always and in all ways thats the best answer i have... I dont have a bunch of verses from the bible to give to you... But trust in him and also its not actually the same thing to allow satan to do his work... Satan enjoys it.. Satan wants your soul and God allows him to do everything he can to have it.. God gave him that power when he was cast out heaven for trying to sit on God's throne.. Satan doesnt care if you truly believe in anything in fact he wants you to not believe in anything thats the easiest way for him to wrap his slimy fingers around your soul and keep you from our heavenly father.. With lots of love your sister Terri

Suicide for one is NOT unpardonable... I believe I said something about turning away from Jesus....That is also pardonable if one repents in time...But blaspheming the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. As far as I can see, in the bible there are only two ways for a Christian to wind up in hell....Blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and choosing to turn your back on Jesus and going the opposite direction. Choosing a life of sin again in defiance of what Jesus has done for you. You mentioned these two but suicide is never unpardonable.
So....everybody falls away once or twice. What the bible is talking about is deliberately choosing to sin..Not getting caught by Satans wiles. You can look at the relationship of a child with his parents. How many times did you rebel against your parents wishes? They never stopped loving you, did they. Neither does God. They realize that you go caught up in a mess...So does God...Both your parents, and God love you and are willing to bend over backward to help you be the best you that you can be....A mistake is NOT a deliberate sin. Its not a slap in the face to God or to your parents. So you fell away. Get up! Stand on your two feet and go on with God. He's right there to help you.
