Physically Awake, Spiritually Asleep

Physically Awake, Spiritually Asleep

A Christian can be physically awake, and be spiritually asleep!!
A Christian can be physically asleep, and yet be spiritually awake!!
We never want to be spiritually asleep, even when we are physically asleep or awake!

Eph 5:13 But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible and clear there is light.
Eph 5:14 Therefore He says, AWAKE, O SLEEPER, AND ARISE FROM THE DEAD, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. (AMP)

The Apostle Paul writing here to the Church is telling them to “WAKE UP”!! We can be born again, and yet be asleep spiritually in our NOT experiencing what the Lord God has already done for us because of ignorance. Ignorance is simply not knowing what the scriptures tells us, but it is more than that, as we might know what the scriptures say, yet we do not believe them even though we say we do!!
We can not believe anything in the bible until we first put the scriptures into our mouths and continually confess them every day, because faith (believing) only comes by hearing the Word of God.
There are no short cuts to having faith!!

Eph 6:18 PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and WATCHING THEREUNTO with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

A person can NOT pray without also “WATCHING”, because watching is praying!!! Jesus once said when he was referring to his second coming....

Mar 13:33 Take ye heed, WATCH AND PRAY: for ye know not when the time is.

Watching means to “STAY AWAKE, TO BE SLEEPLESS” Obviously this has nothing to do with physical sleep as God gives us physical sleep because we need it. Watching also means to “TO OBSERVE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME” If someone asked you to “WATCH” their belongings for a period of time, you would keep your eyes on those things. If you take your eyes off of them you are no longer watching.

When we pray (watching) we should be seeing something, because when a Christian has been given light, it causes vision to see something that was once hidden from view. “Whatever makes things visible is light.....”(Eph 5:13) Where ever there is vision, there is light. Where there is no vision, there is no light!!! Where there is no light the people are spiritually “asleep” even though their eyes are wide open!!!!
