"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

August 20 is a big day for far-reaching communication, with the sending of the first around-the-world telegram in 1911 and the launch in 1977 of Voyager II, with its phonographic message called Sounds of Earth. The first connected the world in a new way, and the second attempted to talk to any possible extraterrestrial life beyond the solar system. Both remind us of the most important message ever sent out to a huge audience—the Gospel.

God does an amazing job of arranging opportunities so His message can go out. Just look at what He did to set up the spread of the Gospel back in the first century. Alexander the Great Hellenized the known world, making Greek the common tongue from southern Europe to India. Rome then solidified the region with paved roads and a common law. Christian missionaries could travel widely and safely and address any people they met in a common tongue. God’s timing was perfect them, and it is now.

The imperfection of His chosen vessels, however, points to a fundamental truth: God loves everyone and wants as many as possible to be saved; all you have to do is share. The truth is simple, but it changed your life. Tell someone how. God orchestrated history so that you can play a key role in His story.
