Hmmm... aren't we supposed to go out unto all the world and preach the gospel?

Yes we are. But there are some people who reject it over and over again. There
are even some who call themselves Christians who reject it. We are told to avoid some of these people.

2 Tim 3:2; For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
2 Tim 3:3; unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
2 Tim 3:4; treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2 Tim 3:5; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.
2 Tim 3:6; For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
2 Tim 3:7; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

"Avoid such men as these" ( verse 5)

1 Cor 15:33; Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."
1 Cor 15:34; Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Bad company corrupts good morals. Jesus hung out with the tax collectors and prostitutes, but
He didn't let their lifestyle corrupt Him. He didn't take up hanging out at the bars and drinking
with the boys just to share the gospel.

1 Cor 5:9; I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;
1 Cor 5:10; I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.
1 Cor 5:11; But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.
1 Cor 5:12; For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?
1 Cor 5:13; But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

Paul tells us not to en eat with some people. These are people in the church!!
He even tells us to remove these people from among us.

2 Cor 6:14; Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2 Cor 6:15; Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
2 Cor 6:16; Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God;

We are not supposed to be married to unbelievers. (If we already are, don't divorce them, that's another
area of scripture). We aren't even supposed to be close intimate friends with these people.

1 Tim 4:7; But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness;

We are to have nothing to do with those spreading fables and lies about the Bible and God.

1 Pet 4:2; so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
1 Pet 4:3; For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the unsaved, having pursued a course of sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and abominable idolatries.
1 Pet 4:4; In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you;
1 Pet 4:5; but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

There comes a time, when we should no longer be hanging out with our lustful drinking buddies
anymore. We shouldn't be "bromancing" them or "male bonding" with them. We should be setting
an example for them. We can't do this if we are at the bar getting drunk with them.

These are just a few examples in the Bible... there are more..

1 Cor 5:1; It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father's wife.
1 Cor 5:2; You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.

These who are committing grave sins in the church, should be "removed from our midst".

Who is your company today? Who is influencing you? Are you influencing them, or are they influencing you?

If you're going into the bars to "witness" to people. Make sure they aren't witnessing the wrong things.

Once you've have a few drinks, you've already compromised your testimony.
You may be sharing that God loves them, and that is great. But are you also sharing with them that God
doesn't require you to repent? That you can go on living just like you always have? What message are
you sending them?

Good point BAC. Witness to them and don't spend too much time with them. I worked among unsaved people for many years and in truth I could lay Jesus out for them and show them Jesus without too much difficulty. If I went to a bar with them It was coffee or coke for me. And I would simply let them have fun without dumping guilt on them. They would come to me, asking "What is it you have? I want what you have!" We are not to deride what they have but to SHOW them something better. If we deride their beliefs they will get defensive.
The other ones you mentioned were the ugly Christians. I got a lot of hurt myself from these people. Thy are wolves in sheep's clothing. I remember talking with one man about twenty five years ago. This man was a Brainiac! Smart!! Mad me feel like a Neanderthal, well almost. He was a Christian, we were talking about our Christian walk. At one point he blew me away with this statement.."I think its good now and then to take a break from the Word, One should take time to rest from it and just be himself" Well this genius was an idiot, but not a bad guy. He never did grow beyond a baby level. On the other hand I've known Christian men and women who preach, teach bible every day and live like hell. Some who smile and 'Praise the Lord" and knife anyone they can (figuratively speaking). These are the ones that you especially want to stay away from. My friend 'Genius' was misguided, My friend "Live like Hell" was one to show by example and from a disance. While my friend 'Vicious Hypocrite' was one to avoid at all costs.

Can we drink alcoholic or not?

Scripture does not say we cannot drink alcohol?

We are told not to get drunk, many who have had a skin full will say I have had a drink I am not drunk, a breath or blood test shows differently.

Scripture tells us clearly...

Ephesians 5:18
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

Some drink can be good for us, everything has to be in moderation

1 Timothy 5:23
Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

1 Peter 4:3
For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles--when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

1 Corinthians 10:23
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.

There are many more verses on the subject, everything should be done in moderation but also in the right company.

Where do Christians ever get this thought or Idea that a Christian life is attractive unto to a unbeliever? A true christian life is never attractive unto a unbeliever. We are commanded to live a self life of denial, a life of suffering, The only way we endure is because we have a "Comforter" the "Holy Spirit"! that lives in the inside, that comforts us during our pain and suffering. We are going to be abused, talked about, torment by the Devil, lose of family members because of our faith, persecuted in the work place, Have a heart longing for our Home with Jesus, despair, puzzled, sometimes even traveling through "The Dark night of the Soul", loneliness, tested, and heaviness of "Fiery Trials, that are so strange that is beyond our imaginations"! Many of times people have told me, "I want what you got, but i do not want to go through what you have been through" but some how you always come out. It is the "endurance" that they are amaze with. After all of that you still Love God! and you still smile. If you follow God you will have to drink this cup.

( 1Peter 4)
1Therefore, since Christ suffered [a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3For we have spent enough of our past 1 Peter 4 NKJVlifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 4In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. 5They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

A christian life is not attractive to a unbeliever, if it is, you are doing something wrong!

you get their attention by telling them whats inspired for them, if they do not Repent of their wicked ways! Then watch the fire works!

"People to Avoid" If ever we needed a Loud voice, that would declared this message unto the "Living Church" of "The Almighty GOD, those who are "The Called Out from Among Them" and touch not the unclean thing!

Are you, in building having fellowship with those who have not been "Born from Above"?
Are You sharing a "communion table" with those who have not been "Born from Above"?
Are you waving your hands and praising God with those who have not been "Born from Above?
Are you a person that cannot tell, the differences between a person who "Loves the LORD their GOD with all their mind, soul, and all their strength and one, that does not? if not, Then WHO are you?

"People to Avoid" is the Title of This Thread!

Do Not Be Unequally Yoked
…16What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” 17“Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”…

How can you christian man, take out a "nominal Christian woman" out to eat.? How can you Christian woman, let a "nominal christian" take you out to dinner?
How could you "Christian man" put you lips on a unclean vessel that "GOD" has called unclean, just because "STOLEN WATERS ARE SWEET" How could you?
How could you "Christian woman" join yourself into a unholy "thing" and calling it a "SOUL MATE"! and despise the very thing that GOD has bless you with, How could you?

Only thing I can say "REPENT" and turn from your wicked ways! AND WARN all others, and Avoid all those who do! And tell them why, you avoid their company! Not because you are good but because, "my Lord said so" for it is written:
Berean Literal Bible
Do not be misled: "Bad companionships corrupt good morals."

New American Standard Bible
Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."

New King James Version
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

King James Bible
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

And remember this: morals has change, what is good and what is bad has change, If you just hang out with them, by God's standard you are just as worst as they are. Just because they are my sons or daughters "God mother" so do not be deceived.

"People to Avoid"

Satan always has a "But" GOD, must be calling His People to Holiness! Come and Wash, He will make you clean again! "every time i step down into the pool someone go's before me when the "Angel has trouble the Water" Do you want to be made whole?

The Pool of Bethesda
…6When Jesus saw him lying there and realized that he had spent a long time in this condition, He asked him, “Do you want to get well?” 7“Sir,”the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.”8Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.”…
(John 5).

I do speak in "love' no matter how harsh it may sound.

I can feel it. I pray to God Almighty, "let it flow, like a river, that never runs dry" "The River of Sanctification".

I consider Matthew 10: 13 If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it; but if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14And if anyone will not welcome you or heed your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.

If you're rebuffed for being Christian or speaking of Salvation, that is the message, the truth is not wanted there. Keep it moving. God knows all and it really isn't news to him.

I think we have to ponder the personal question, how do I , a lesser being, think I need to strive to please Omnipotent Omniscience?
God knows all.
I believe Jesus mission and message was a simple one. And in the end it was sealed with the blood of a man who was divinity in the flesh. (Emmanuel=God with us), so that we would realize even in the parable that was his visual death on the cross, that flesh and blood is transitory, while eternal divine sacred spirit, as he exampled in the resurrection, lives forever.
Jesus message was for us to realize we are God's. We have always been of and from God. Releasing the idea that this world is all there is, and all its appetites and carnal pulls are there to enjoy because there is only now, this life, and nothing after. Releasing the leading of the carnal and realizing, real-i , that the divine will lead us to right-ness if we but pay(pray) attention, is what allows us to overcome the world.
And Baptism is the rite that allows us to be reborn to that knowledge. Just as we were born from the water of our mothers womb into this world with its illusion appetite and satisfaction is paramount. While coming to the knowledge God, sacred holy spirit, is more, is what leads us to be born again, baptized, immersed in living water, to rise up having left the mortal fleshly myopia behind, so as to see clearly we are more. And to then follow the leading of the spirit we are born of and from, is what saves us from the trap of this world.

All things are of and from God. (Romans 11:36 et al. ) The worlds veil lets us think of it having primacy.

Matthew 10:13 is not the great commission. They were not empower by the The "Holy Ghost". yet The New Testament Had not come into force. Jesus had not died or rose from the grave, he had not ascended unto the Father neither had He sent the "Holy Ghost" The Advocate to earth. For The "Holy Ghost" is the one who empowers us to witness until death.

Matthew 10:13 is a "imperative" to command a directive of a presentation of a certain Proclamation and how it is to be carried out by the "12" similar to that of the "70" in the "NT" and Not of the "70" listed in the "OT" who where empowered By The "Holy Spirit". In layman terms: i would say. HE gave a Command not out of His humanity but out of HIS Divinity! In Matthew 10:13.

The Great Commission
…18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”…
He gave the great commission but they could not go until they were empowered on the day of Pentecost.
Luke 24
44
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Jesus gave his disciples instructions, You just don't get up and go! I think you should at least know what is written in your Bible.
