The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 2 Peter 3:9 NLT
People’s sin doesn’t cause God to shake, quiver, or worry. He gave us a choice, and He knew that every person who ever lives would disobey Him. He could say, “Enough is enough!” and destroy everything. He could make people obey every law He spoke. Yet God chooses to love, forgive, accept, and offer new life. His plan is to give everyone the greatest chance to live unshaken.
God is patient because people are stubborn. While many people refuse His offer, He still extends life and hope. Jesus has promised to return—and He will—but there are still people who need to hear His story, experience His love, and follow His plan.
God has every reason to destroy, but for now He waits. He wants to see Christians live their faith boldly and share His story of rescue faithfully…while He waits patiently so that more people have the chance to become part of His family.
Prayer: God, thanks for being patient with me. Help me be patient with others. Let me not think of Your return as being late but rather see Your patience as a sign of Your grace. You are not slow, but I can be impatient.
