One of my favorite songs is "Beloved" by Tenth Avenue North. Mike Donehey (lead singer) did a video journal about the song, explaining the meaning behind the lyrics (I actually watched the video journal first before I had ever heard the song. Then I went and listened to the song afterward, falling in love with it because of the meaning first explained).
The video was really interesting, and Mike gave an explanation about the Passover supper Jesus had with His disciples, saying that by asking His disciples to drink the wine and eat the bread, He was essentially asking them to marry Him (and then we are later given an example of the church and body of believers being the bride of Christ).
I tried to do some looking into that, but I haven't found anything that supports or disproves this. Does anyone have any links or material of some sort that talks about the customs of Jesus' day, whether it proves or disproves Mike's view his song is based on??
I would love to do some further study on this.
Thanks!
ps
Since I'm a newbie I can't post links, but you can find the video journal on YouTube.
