This is a study on the Trinity. The Triune God. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 43 talks about God the Savior.
Isa 43:3; “For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place.
"The Holy One of Israel". "Your God". "Your Savior".
Generally most Christians consider Jesus their Savior.
Isa 43:10; “You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.
Isa 43:11; “I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me.
Isa 43:12; “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, And there was no strange god among you;
So you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And I am God.
Isa 43:13; “Even from eternity I am He, And there is none who can deliver out of My hand;
I act and who can reverse it?”
God is God. There was no other gods before Him, and there will be no other gods after Him. (Isa 43:10; )
God is the Lord. There is no Savior besides Him. ( Isa 43:11; )
We have had certain people here on TalkJesus from time to time who believe they will become a god. They believe there are many gods, and the god of the Bible
is just one more god in a long succession of gods. Now while this may sound crazy and obviously wrong, I assure you, there is a large group that call themselves
"Christians" that believe this. They are mostly in the US, but they are growing, they have millions of members.
Luke 1:47; And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
It is Mary the mother of Jesus speaking here. She acknowledges God is the Savior here. Even Mary needed a Savior, though another large "Christian" group
says Mary was sinless and never sinned.
If Isa 43:11; says there is no Savior besides God... then we should consider who the Savior is.
Luke 2:11; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Jesus is the Savior. ( John 4:42; Acts 5:31; Acts 13:23; Ephesians 5:23; Philippians 3:20; )
God is the Savior. ( 1Tim 1:1; 1Tim 2:3; 1Tim 4:10; Titus 1:3; Titus 2:10; Titus 3:4; )
Depending on which Bible you have, some verses combine "our God and Savior Jesus Christ". The more accurate translations say...
[NASB]
2Pet 1:1; Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
[NASB]
Titus 2:13; looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
There is only one Savior, He is God.
No mere man can save you.
Psa 49:7; No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him—
Psa 49:8; For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever—
No mere man could ever redeem you. There are some who teach Jesus gave up His divinity when He came to Earth as a human. If this is true, you haven't been redeemed.
Psa 49:15; But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, For He will receive me.
