You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. Deuteronomy 13:4 NKJV

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, but those who trust and obey God can have overwhelming joy in their hearts. This was true for people in the Bible, and it’s true now. God made sure His word to His children is constant. Jesus said there would be trials but that He would overcome the world.

It’s easy to forget that God always sees and hears you. But God does hear you because He thinks about you and loves you so very much. He calls you His child, and that makes you worthy of His love.

When you remember your true identity in Christ, life’s problems won’t seem so ominous. When you recall that Jesus knew you while you were still in your mother’s womb and that He died for you, you will spend more of your time praising Him and holding fast to Him. You will never go wrong when you keep God’s Word in your heart and obey and serve Him!

Prayer: Father, some days it feels like the world is closing in around me and I’m trapped. Even though I know You love me, I let doubt creep in. Take over and give me rest. Remind me how important it is for me to hold fast to You and obey You.

Well written. :)

I believe the obeying on our part is to believe in Jesus Christ for all things and that includes us leaning on Him all the time for the power we need for following Him.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:... 11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure..... 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
