1Tim 4:6; In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.
It is a well known fact that we have to eat to live. It is also known that "you are what you eat". Bad eating habits and an unhealthy diet make for an unhealthy person.
So then... what are you eating? More importantly, what is your soul eating?
Four times in John 6, Jesus mentions the bread of life.
John 6:33; "For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."
John 6:35; Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
John 6:48; "I am the bread of life.
John 6:51; "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh."
Your body may be able to live on fruits, vegetables and meat, but your soul cannot.
Matt 4:4; But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'" ( Deut 8:3; )
The trash on television, the internet, and even in some churches today is not healthy for your soul. The Bible, the Word of God is always healthy for us.
Jas 1:21; Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
