Acts 2:34 KJV 'For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,'

So if David had not ascended into heaven by the date of 33 AD after dying about 1000 years previously - 'King David of Israel reigned from around 1010–970 BCE. He was the second king of Israel, succeeding King Saul' - where was or is he today?
And if he had not ascendd then why do so many 'Christians' claim the dad fly off to heaven?

Also when Jesus died the earthquake broke open the tombs and some saints walked about the village. Who believes the dead were resurrected that day? who could those saints have been - local believers killed for preaching the Gospel?

The supposed tomb containing the bones of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the Cave of Machpelah with the variously modified building above it but it is 19 miles from Jerusalem so they were unlikely to be the ones in Jerusalem?
Good old Wikipedia ever ready to worship Satan claims: 'most historians believe the Abraham-Isaac-Jacob narrative to be primarily mythological.'

Now you use scripture....One single scripture ...and you built an entire doctrine on it...An entire doctrine on a single verse?!

Yes. I'm a Christian. What are you?
Read and reread this until you get it: 'David had not ascended into heaven by the date of 33 AD after dying about 1000 years previously'

You need to read the scriptures here over and over, with the Holy Spirit explaining it to you, until you see the truth of it....Its there....Three thousand Jews heard it and got saved because of it. Paul was speaking to the Jews of the day and they all understood it...

.You do not. Even your head knowledge is wrong. Stop being an enemy of the cross of Christ and get saved

Take your own advice: 'You need to read the scriptures here over and over, with the Holy Spirit explaining it to you, until you see the truth of it.'

Acts 2:34 KJV 'For David is not ascended into the heavens.'

No one else has ascended either or will ascend but all the dead are in their graves.

I recall one thread where this had been discussed, and no one could provide any scripture that said people go to heaven when they die.

There was one viewpoint that said Abraham's Bosom was part of hell, but the "nice" part of hell where saved people go when they die. This was based on the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man - Luke 16:19-31.

You need to read the scriptures
By all means, Admon... just point them out.

Kindly,

Paul who had met Jesus said this: acts 24:14; 'But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:'

15; 'And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.'

Like I say: all the dead are still in their graves until Judgment Day.

There isn't a single verse. It's a teaching of Greek Philosophy. So many believe that the "parable" of the Rich Man and Lazarus is an actual event, even though they can't prove that the dead are alive.

even though they can't prove that the dead are alive.
And that's because the dead are dead ;)

God is not the God of the Dead (who are living somewhere).

If the dead were alive somewhere, then God would be the God of the dead.

I truly don't get why people can't figure that out.

It's mind numbing.

This "logic" is mind numbing....What does the Word say?
He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
(Mark 12:27 KJV)

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5 KJV)

God is not the God of the dead (living somewhere else) because the dead are DEAD.

If the Dead were to be living somewhere else, then God WOULD be the God of the Dead.

All major religions had a God of the Dead people who were living elsewhere in whatever their version of Hades was. To a Greek, the God of the Dead was actually named Hades, until the name was changed to Pluto by the Romans. Hel is the name of the Old Norse goddess of the dead who lived in (yep) Hel. Kali, Anubis, Ah Puch (Myan), ... you can do your own homework (as Nick once told me).

This is not hard AM. It's just that you're offended because "the word" doesn't say what you want it to say.

I had to leave one evangelical church after a Bible study when one couple who had marriedd after both lost their marriage partners howled me down when I said their dead were in their graves. The yelled 'They flew off to heaven when they died!'
I walked out and left them to their delusion.

Because of our physical lives we have this mindset that heaven is mostly a place where we go to. With it being a nice place without the "fire of hell" next door. But Heaven is much Greater than that. Heaven is actually God Life in the Spirit. Where we enter heaven in being born of God. That is why we are already there according to Scripture. The last physical change of our bodies to match our Spiritual Existence we already have is a very small part of the Real Greatness of Heaven we already entered. Where we already enjoy 95% of heavenly life already. And those not enjoying it is of course still suffering in hell of being human in sin and wretchedness of the life of the mind humans live.
So heaven's just a state of mind.

Oh, heaven's just a state of mind

Oh, have you heard that God is dead?
I made that one up myself

Revelation actually details New Creation.

Revelation 21:1-8 HCSB - The New Creation

The New Creation - Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea no longer existed.

Dirty polluted Earth has to be destroyed by fire and a new one created for the Anglo Christian Ephraimites and the other 11 tribes.
