Mary Magdalene was shocked when she found the grave of Jesus empty. (John 20,16) “She wept bitterly”. Why?
Remember that this was the Mary out of whom Jesus had cast 7 evil spirits. Mary reasoned like this: “If Jesus, my Savior is dead, it can only mean one thing – all the devils and more are going to come back to me.”
But then Christ interrupted her thoughts by calling her by her name “MARY”. What her tearful eyes had missed, her ears picked up…it was the voice of her Jesus! She shot around and cried “RABBONI”. It meant as much as “Jesus, as long as you live, no devil can come back.
As long as you live I remain a child of God. As long as you live goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” And the Lord hurries to reassure all His children, you and me included. He says un Rev. 1,18: “I am He that lives and was dead, and, behold, I am alive for evermore…”
