This is one of the few things it seems has not been discussed a lot here on TJ.

In the book of Revelation, there will be a government power, some believe this to be a man,
other's believe it to be a military/government organization. But whatever it is, it will rule
the world for a time.

Power is given to this beast to overcome the saints... the believers on the earth during this time.
Many will be beheaded during this time because of their faith. No one will be able to buy or sell anything (including necessities like food and water) unless they take the mark of the beast.

I work in IT. I work in computers and networks for telecom companies.
It's amazing where technology has gone in the last decade. We have chips for everything.
GPS in our cars. GPS in our phones. Even GPS in some watches. We can text and do instant
messaging to almost anyone instantly all over the world.

Did you ever wonder how the message magically gets from my phone to your phone?
I can tell you, it goes through many back-end computer systems in the few seconds it takes to get from here to there. I have literally seen thousands and millions of these messages getting passed
around. Of course they are encoded and I can't read them, (there are encryption decoders available,
and I'm sure the NSA has ways of doing this).

The big thing in technology these days is "the cloud". All the cloud really is, is remote storage
for your computer files. In years past, if you saved documents, Bible study notes, pictures, music,
and things like this. You saved them to something called a hard drive, it was right inside your
computer. But now.. more and more... less and less is getting stored locally on our hard drives
and most things are getting sent off to the cloud to be stored for us.

We can even use credit cards with smart chips. For that matter, there are apps that let us use
our smartphones as a credit card in some cases.

Now of course a lot of this is done in the name of security. The NSA scans people's messages and emails
so that they can find terrorists and anti-American extremist emails. The cloud backs things up for
us so we don't have to worry about our files getting lost if our computer or smart-phone breaks. The
cloud also makes it easy for us to use our files on different devices, like our computer, our tablet,
and our smartphone all at the same time. There is some good reasons for some of this.

But how easy is it now for the government to profile us? What if they're not only looking for terrorists, but looking for hardcore Christians. What if they decide that we are the "anti-American" extremists.
What if our beliefs are a threat to homosexuality, abortion, drugs, and what has slowly become...
"the American way". This isn't just for Americans. All countries are affected by this. Every industrialized
country has it's own version of the NSA. The ones that don't... well we "take care of them".

How many times have you used your credit card for things like... buying a Bible in a Christian book store.
Donating to Christian organizations... even donating to TJ. (I think if you're doing that, it's great and you
should continue to do it!) Some people tithe to churches using their credit cards.
How many text messages have you sent different people with encouragement... with the words "God" or "Jesus" or "Bible" or even a bible verse in them.
How many times have we clicked on "Like this" or "Share this" if you love Jesus. I've done it.
I will continue to do it. These things are easily searchable about people. Everytime their is a mass
shooting it seems the very next day the police and authorities have all the social media files related
to the person involved. Facebook makes us agree to if we are investigated by the authorities, they
will cooperate and give our information to them.

I saw this week where the US and 11 other countries have entered into a trade agreement. This is
called the "Trans Pacific Partnership". On the other side of the world... Europe has something
called the European Union... as of today it has 28 countries. It seems to world is becoming smaller and
smaller in many ways. Our world currency is becoming more and more centralized. Coincidence?

Even though I'm posting this in a Bible Study thread.. I haven't posted any scriptures yet... (those who know me, know I will get to it).

I also saw in the news this week that Russia and Iran have troops in Syria less than 100 miles from Israel.

Rev 13:2; And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.

Hmmm... what is the symbol of Russia?
What animal does Iran have on it's flag.. (and had before this, even when they were called Persia).
Syria was known as the home of the antolian leopard and the Arabian leopard for many years
(it seems they are extinct now). Coincidence?

In the last days... was there ever a time that this describes more than right now?

2 Pet 3:4; and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”
2 Pet 3:;5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,
2 Pet 3:6; through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
2 Pet 3:7; But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Anyone else agree? Or is this all just a conspiracy theory?

I would agree with what you have written BAC, I think its pretty clear that Christians are persecuted around the world now, and little by little they are working on us here in the USA.

LOCAL MAYOR REFUSES TO REMOVE PORK FROM SCHOOL CANTEEN MENU AND EXPLAINS WHY.
Muslim parents have demanded the abolition of pork in all the school
canteens of a Montreal suburb. It seems it is offensive to the Muslim
families and shows much disrespect.
The mayor of the Montreal suburb of Dorval, has refused, and the town
clerk sent a note to all parents in the municipality to explain why.
The following is what the note stated:
“Muslims must understand that they have to adapt to Canada and
Quebec, its customs, its traditions, its way of life, because that is
where they chose to immigrate. They must understand that they have to
integrate and learn to live in Quebec. They must understand that it is
for them to change their lifestyle, not the Canadians who so
generously welcomed them.”
“They must understand that Canadians are neither racist nor
xenophobic, they accepted many immigrants before Muslims (Whereas the
reverse is not true, in that ALL Muslim states do not accept
non-Muslim immigrants.).
“They must also understand that, no more than other nations, Canadians
are not willing to give up their identity nor their culture. And if
Canada is a land of welcome, it is not just the Mayor of Dorval who
welcomes foreigners, but the Canadian-Quebecois people as a whole. “
“Finally, they must understand that in Canada (Quebec) with its
Judeo-Christian roots, Christmas trees, churches and religious
festivals, religion must remain in the private domain. Therefore, the
municipality of Dorval was right to refuse any concessions to Islam
and Sharia.”
“For Muslims who disagree with secularism and do not feel comfortable
in Canada, there are 57 beautiful Muslim countries in the world, most
of them under-populated and ready to receive them with open halal arms
in accordance with Shariah law. If you left your country for Canada,
and not for other Muslim countries, it is because you have considered
that life is better in Canada than elsewhere. So, ask yourself the
question, just once, “Why is it better here in Canada than where you
come from?”
