I have been married for 20 years. My husband wants to claim he is a christian yet he is deeply into the new age and eastern philosphy. He is a devotee of Babaji. Before I married him he was involved in Siehkism for ten years. He acted like he wanted to get to know the bible when I met him and accepted Christ as his savior. Now he is back into the other stuff and twists the scripture's because of his beliefs. Can anyone relate or give me some answers. We constantly struggle with this. I could really use some advice and encouraging words. I am very happy to be a part of this community and look forward to getting to know my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I feel for your situation , its not easy and there really is no magic words or salution. We as Children of God are called to plant seeds and must trust in the Holy Spirit to do the work in the inner parts of our loved ones hearts and souls. We can do our part by being loving and living by example and 'letting our light shine' in the darkness. Thats not to say we are in compatition with an opposing faith (as in your case), but just letting go and trusting God. Arguing and debating differences only fuels the fire. Your husband can be won over by your quiet still spirit. Don't fight that which the Holy Spirit is in charge of....thats why we get frustrated.

1 Corinthians 7:14
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Donnie gave you some very good advice Heartlight. Will be praying for you and your husband also.

Thank-you so much Donni and Jiggyfly. Your words of encouragement mean so much to me. I don't get out a lot so words of comfort are so welcoming from my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know Jesus is the Victor. Sometimes it is just hard. Thank-you also for your prayers.

First welcome!!heartlight! I remember when I came to the Lord, and really started getting into his Word,my family thought I had lost my mind! LOL Mom was so worried, she went to her Luthern Pastor and asked him if I was in a cult!! What does your son do now asked the Pastor?? Well Pastor my mom says he is speaking in an unknown language unto God!

He is laying hands on the sick, and they are recovering?? He is singing in what he calls the Spirit of God,Oh Pastor has my son fallen victim to a cult?? The pastor sat down, then said no he has not Dolores( my moms name) he just is believing what many people have forgotton, which is DOING!!

What the Word says to do that is all he is doing! We, as you know do not practice such things in our Church,it is not our custom to do so,because it is not in our doctrine. Your son will be just fine, do not worry. Mom felt better after this, but after I returned home, the Holy Spirit prepared me for what was to come!

If you think you will be well received because of your new found faith, you are sadly mistaken! You will be sorrly tested! Some will laugh, others will think you have lost your mind, and still others like those of your family will not want to see this change in you, remember, they know you! Or did so until I called YOU!( john 15:16) And so dear sister in Christ for almost 3 years they watched, they tested, they did everything they could to get me back to where i used to be,drugs were offered by friends, old girlfriends started to call wanting dates, you know what kind of dates to!

I made mistakes at times just like any other person did, but, did not let this get me down,my brother at that time was gay,and he just could not believe what he was seeing! All this time I did not speak of Jesus much,I did the very best I could to show Jesus to them! long story short! After 2 and a half years both my brother and mother sat down with me and asked, "Mark you are not the same anymore please tell us of what God has done to you,and for you! THAT!!! was my signal!!

Now my words unto them from Holy Spirit in me had GREAT!! POWER! Both gave there life to Jesus,my brother left his drinking problem and his gay lifestyle, not because I pointed my fingers at them, which is the case of many new believers, but rather showed them why God's Way is the only way to follow!! IN LOVE! BY DEEDS!! THEN!!! in Words! eph 2:13-22 this is done so that!! eph 3:17-21 can become a fact!

Not just in faith, but to others eyes as well in our Lord. I am so thankful to Jesus for doing not just a great work in me!! But in my family, sure we all make mistakes from time to time!! BUT!! WE as a family know who we trust, and better then this!! We know why we trust Jesus!! I hope this helps!!
