Hi, I answered this ad for this person who wanted Christian friends. It seemed like the person didn't have any. He wrote to me and I can see why he has no Christian friends. He doesn't think anyone can be a Christian unless they have actually seen God with an out of body experience. I told him seeing God is not what saves a person. He seems very judgemental and prideful. I think that God is trying to get his attention. He doubts the Bible for any instruction, thinks some of it is false, especially the part about people who haven't seen God being blessed if they believe. Says they can't possibly be saved or blessed by not seeing Him. I know that isn't true and what it is saying.
Anyway, I wrote back. I just wish he would not sit judging everyone else. I told him people seeing God were called apostles, that I was a disciple, not an apostle. Also told him we are to look for the fruit of the Spirit, not to see if they had an encounter with God in the same way he did. I told him God cannot be put in a box and will meet people in different ways. I told him the blood of the Lamb saved us, not our works, because he had told me about his good works and can't see other people doing them. I told him that God doesn't want our works shown to everyone, that people do them, just don't talk about it, they let God reward them and not people, and that it leads to pride telling of our works.
He said he had attended all different "churches" but didn't find Christians there. He said God isn't found in a book or what a person tells you.
Anyway, Im writing this to see if anyone else has had people like this, with experiences supposedly with God (not necessarily God though, who knows?) but seems to reject everything else in the Bible? It seems from what he said that God is trying to get his attention. He goes to a church to pray but that is all, not when others are there, he said.
So to recap, he believes he saw God, doesn't believe alot in the bible, doesn't think there are Christians in churches because he doesn't see good works, doesn't believe what the preachers say.....he only believes there is a God from what I can tell. ...but as we know,,,even the demons know that.
