Hello to all,

I am an elderly female (grandmother) saved by the grace of God over 44 years ago.

"Nang" is a nickname given to me by one of my granddaughters, which stands for "Not A Normal Grandma," because my whole life is caught up and centered in studying the Word of God, and defending my theological conclusions.

Warning: I am of the Reformed Faith; I believe in the Doctrines of Grace (TULIP), the 5 Solas, and I am a student of Covenant Theology.

Is there any Christian fellowship to be found here on this site that claims to "Talk Jesus?"

If not . . so be it. I am not interested in causing doctrinal strife. Simply looking for those of similar beliefs.

Sister Nang, I do not ascribe to any of mans doctrinal theologies, nor do I belong to any denomination. I am just a born again Christian always seeking for more truth from God's Word. What do you have on your heart that excites you?

Hello Curtis . . .

I hope your response is friendly and encouraging!

The Reformed faith is not a denomination, but a biblical approach to comprehending the Word of God, that truly resides in my heart with much anointed excitement that is founded solely on the biblical promises of God.

The "TULIP" approach to scriptwriters came by who? I have heard this before somewhere. Did the Lord show you this or did you learn it from others?
Through out my Christian life I have tried to stay away from any type of theology that someone came up with that would cause me to have a preconceived idea about what scripture teach.
Sister, I am sure there are somethings you believe that I don't and some things I believe you don't. This is where spiritual growth comes from as we discuss these differences. Pick something cool we can talk about.

IMO, Covenant Theology is Truth and therefore a totally cool subject to discuss.

"TULIP" is biblical, and was developed by Christians at the Synod of Dordt.

Greetings @Nang

Here at Talk Jesus we love to talk about Jesus and the truth found in His word
We welcome anyone who wants to share fellowship around Him and discussion of His word

We do not accept the calvinist doctrine and later T-U-L-I-P doctrine as being truth

You are very welcome here but not welcome to push Reformed Faith

I am a student of Covenant Theology

I grew up in a church that taught covenant theology. They didn't have a profound effect on me, so I didn't learn much about there.

It's something I'd like to study more.

Blessings

Welcome to the forum, Nang! Anyone who has met the Master likely is not normal in the sense that carnal man would describe normal.

Hello Travis,

Covenant Theology is a wonderful study, because it provides an appreciation and application of the entire bible, premised on God's promises of the Savior, Jesus Christ. All Holy Scripture proves to be revelation of Him!

"Then He said to them, 'These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me.'"
Luke 24:44

Welcome to the forums @Nang.

For me, the Scripture is sufficient enough Word of GOD directly from GOD. Others may differ in their views on how to study, but I personally do not care for anyone's theology. Scripture cannot be explained better outside itself.

I don't consider my as much of anything other than a person who reads the Bible and allow myself to believe what is in my heart. Is Reformed Faith not the same as Reformed Theology? I always thought that either was based on doctrines of the scripture, basically called “sola scriptura,”, which is is the Protestant Christian doctrine that the Bible is the supreme authority in all matters of doctrine and practice. As far as I understand, theirs is not a “new” belief system but one that seeks to continue apostolic doctrine.
You are claiming a TJ position and it is very confusing to me?

@RJ

I am referring to reformed faith/theology as in calvinism and the later T-U-L-I-P based doctrine

Whilst individual may lean towards this type of doctrine, it is not something that is Biblical truth and therefore pushing it here is not acceptable

Calvinism | Talk Jesus

Calvinism | Talk Jesus

Calvanism (brief) | Talk Jesus

This is a denial that the Protestant Faith was scripturally founded upon the Reformers who opposed the abuses of the RCC.

Do you deny this? Are you not "Protestant" in your beliefs?

Sister Nang, I have talk to believers that had this same belief as you, and most of the things they said, I agreed with 100%. But, there were other things they said, and believed that were so far outside of truth I could not believe it. Even after showing them the error of their belief system through many scriptures they still refused to change their beliefs. This is why it is very bad to take on a group of peoples belief system without the Holy Spirit teaching it himself to you. As you already know those of the same belief use the exact same "TULIP" system to teach their beliefs.
The only good tradition that we are to listen to is what the Apostle Paul spoke to Timothy.

2Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

2Th 2:15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.

The only good tradition is what Paul spoke directly by mouth to Timothy, or what he wrote to him in his epistles. Any thing else do not believe.

This is an introductory thread.

@Nang. You are very welcome here but as it has been already said not welcome to push your doctrinal beliefs

Anything other than introduction posted on this thread will be deleted

There are other forums that can be used for discussion

Thank you Chad for the welcome, and I share your love and respect for the Word of God . . . and after a brief spell here on your site, I clearly see you base your testimony and instructions/teachings to your members, solely on the Holy Scriptures, which I truly appreciate!

"Theology" is the study of God, that should be founded on nothing less than the entirety of the Bible that reveals all the words of God. Matthew 4:4

Welcome aboard Nana.
Hope that you will find fellowship here at TJ that will fit the category of Brother & Sister in Christ Jesus.
I am an elderly female (grandmother) saved by the grace of God over 44 years ago.

Hope you also have room for praising and worshiping Sister Nana!
"Not A Normal Grandma," because my whole life is caught up and centered in studying the Word of God, and defending my theological conclusions.

Defending your theological conclusion seems to be saying that you are no longer searching but have found God.
Yet if it's "your theological conclusion" is it God that you have concluded to have found so is no longer theology but foundational truth? ;)

However, this is not a place of debate, but of welcome!! As my Dear Sister Fragrant Grace has stated.

With that being said. I'm sure if you decide to continue to stay with this Christian Community here at TJ, we'll be communicating in one fashion or another :) in prayer, fellowship, thanksgiving, comfort whatever the Holy Spirit lays on your heart to share.
