Hi, I am Taylor. I am a 25 year old Christian man. And this is my testimony. (You are welcome to share it with others if you wish)

I can remember being around 10 years old and looking at the people outside of a church, and thinking to myself "These people are just scared to die, and thats why they go to church. It is obvious that no such thing as God exists!" And so I grew up living as an atheist, believing in evolution and creating my own morality. I was heavily influenced by popular culture and got heavy into drugs and sex, even into bisexuality. At around the age of 19 i got into bodybuilding and added steroid addiction to my drug and sex addictions. Around that time i stopped using drugs for partying and started using them to meditate and think about philosophy. In college, studying philosophy I came across the idea of "causality" being proof of the existence of God. At first the idea seemed circular to me, but a few days later a weight fell on my head and i understood the argument and I started to believe in God from that day onward (but it was not the God of the bible, but a god of my own imagination).. fast forward three years and I am neck deep in crystal meth addiction, steroid addiction, and paying for my drugs by selling gay sex (being a gay prostitute). Well, 9 months of sleeplessness and 6 felonies in 3 different counties later, i find myself in solitary confinement in county jail and in the midst of terrible hallucinations and demonic oppresion. For some reason I remember the Lord's prayer (which my upbringin in the Catholic church had engrained in me), and I prayed that prayer. Well, a bright light (literally) shone bright in my jail cell and I knew for certain that I had found something special. That was 13 months ago. Today I have 1 year clean of steroids, drugs, and homosexuality. I am happily married to a beautiful woman, and living for God on a daily basis. I have read the entire Bible, and I even go out street evangelising (with the help of Ray Comfort's youtube videos that teach about how to evangelise) 3-4 times a month.

Hey Taylor,

Thanks for sharing your testimony. It looks like Jesus has rescued you from the depths of depravity. Makes me think of a certain verse of scripture:

Luke 7:47
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.

The nice thing about knowing you are a big sinner is that knowing that Jesus has saved you and set you free, that he has forgiven you of so much, just makes you love him all the more.

Grace to you,

Travis

hey Travis

Yeah, a friend of mine told me recently "the worst people are the ones who have never really done much bad in their lifes. they have always done what they were supposed to do, and so they dont think they need a savior because they believe they are already a good person". and thats true. It is sort of a blessing to know that i HAVE sinned greatly, because it makes accepting the atoning work of Christ much easier (knowing that i have some big transgressions that had to be covered).

God bless you

Thank you for your introduction and sharing your testimony @Taylor Barrett

Praise the Lord for His great mercy and saving grace

You will be more and more amazed by the Lord's wonderful love for you as you grow daily in His grace.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us
Titus 3:15

Welcome aboard Taylor, my brother in Christ Jesus!

Awesome testimony! Alleluia! Praise His Holy Name!

As I'm sure you've already found out. The power of your own testimony can be of great value in witnessing to those who are, were, or not, in the lifestyle, yet don't know Christ Jesus. Providing an immedidate connection when you couple that with "Way of the Master" method of evangelisim. The Holy Spirit I know has a powerful witness for Our Lord and Savior for communicating to a lost world in you Taylor Barrett!

I pray you will continue to share your life with those who come to Talk Jesus seeking guidance/help.

Once again, be welcome Taylor!
