A well-worn one dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation.

The twenty dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the county. "I've had a pretty good life," the twenty proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, the finest restaurants in New York, performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean."

"Wow!" said the one dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"

"So tell me," says the twenty, "Where have you been throughout your lifetime?"

The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church, the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church ...."

The twenty dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"

great joke :D
thanks for sharing - makes me think about this issue...

I think my pastor would really like this one...I'm working on memorizing it so I can tell it to him properly.

Not necessarily true. I have seen many people put a $20 bill in the collection plate. Of course they usually took back $19 change!

Wow Maj I have never seen anybody take money out like that. I have seen £5 notes in the collection. I would not want to take out anything either. It gets passed round so quickly that it would be hard for people to get any change back.

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:

2 laughs ;)

Good laugh, thank you for sharing that joke Faithin1, you also made me laugh MAJ52653;) In my church it would be unthinkable taking back change.

Unfortunately, there is one guy who can do that, and that is the pastor. I have sadly had the personal experiance of the church taking up a collection for our drama, music and puppetry group after we performed at their church. The pastor would get the collection, take out a $20 bill, hand it to us, and keep the rest of the collection. One took a collection and gave us nothing at all. Of course most of the time the pastors did give us the collection, but there were enough of the first sort to keep us in poverty.
