The word 'Ministry' comes from the Greek 'diakoneo',εξυπηρετούν meaning 'to serve'.
In fact the ministry must be done with holiness and humility. Some of the people think that we can do His ministry any way but it is not the way Jesus taught His disciples.
In order to do ministry first of all one must have faith.
FAITH: It is helps to do miracle in the ministry. It is essential to see the glory of God and can do anything for His glory, not for any body name to be praised, Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." John 11:40 Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" When I came to the full time ministry, my parents and brothers all were so much upset and they stated that we all will good in every thing including finances but we are worried of you and your future. Then that day itself I swore that I would not ask anything even if I lack something in my life. Then when me and my wife were challenged we will not reveal to any of our parents and brothers of our needs but let the Lord may provide everything what we need. One time our older son Franklin was 6 months baby we carried and walked 9 kms in scorching heat summer to reach the Maloya where our church planting ministry started , his tongue was so dry and there was no fresh water after few minutes we approached village Maloya and we asked some one to help to get water boil in good temperature and make it cool and give us. And gave water in a bottle. By His grace When we reached home one of our friend visited us given an envelop.After they left we opened and see it was Rs.69.00 ($1.20 appx.) it is exactly to buy a tin of milk for Franklin. Is it not miraculous provision from the Lord!!!! Amen!!!! If we have a faith on Lord surely the Lord shall provide what we need, not we we greed
Mark 9:23 "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
HOLINESS: Holiness means separation to God, and sanctified I Thes.4:3-7
3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
Most of all we are called to be holy I Pet. 1: 13-19. Run away from adultery and lust of flesh and money.
We must understand every servant of God/ Christian also human being and temptation is inevitable on earth so he must have power to over come the temptation as he faces day today life.
For this he or she needs the Word of God in his heart and secondly anointing of the Holy Spirit which guides and helps us in our weakness to remain to be good and powerful servant of God.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
HUMILITY: It means to lower in status, BEND DOWN YOURSELF AND MAKE MEEK AND DESTROY PRIDEFUL ATTITUDE. This is one of the best key to serve the Lord at any situation. Pride comes before fall (Pro.16:18) Humility and fear of God bring wealth and honor (Pro.22:4) Humility to shown in your high position(servant of God) ,for example if you are in a company as manager and found and laying a piece of paper in the middle of lawn in your campus picked up and put into trash that is real humility. The same way a servant of God one is seen a poor man or woman need you near to you for prayer or some help you must show the pity and humility. Why the servants of God fallen from the position is one of the key causes to fall is pride, the pride of the background, education, class or caste or fame and riches and holiness.
Prov.29:23 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 Jesus went and bend down to the feet of the disciples to wash them and clean them. JESUS IS THE HEAVENLY KING AND CREATOR OF THE WORLD AND AUTHOR OF EVERYTHING ON AND TOP OF THE WORLD
HOW MUCH MORE WE NEED HUMILITY TO SERVE HIM EVEN IN OUR CHURCH AND FOR HIS KINGDOM WHATEVER MAY BE
So brother and sister what kind of ministry that you are involved but to keep attitude and elements of elementary components are more essential like faith, humility and holiness.
SACRIFICE: It is also most essential for the servants of God. Most of the time as a natural man has selfish motives to reach someone but God's word says Psalm.20:3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Yes as a minister of God must have attitude of sacrifice because our Lord Jesus Who has been sacrificed all of his life like left wonderful heaven where He is the king of all of His creatures heaven and earth , was walking with gold floor etc.
Even now there were many missionaries around the world they sacrificed their lives for Christ. In India Dr.William Carey ,(England),Dr.Stein (Australia) Jim Elliot(Waorani Indians (referred to at the time as the Auca Indians of Ecuador)
There are many Indian pastors been so much beaten up badly by gospel opponents because of telling Gospel some of the Indian Pastors died and left behind their young wives and children.
Many High Caste Hindus and Muslims been so much persecuted because of Gospel
What about you today? Are you willing to take pains for Christ whose innocence blood dropped on the ground for you and me and unsaved nations and world?
Let me bring what I little did for Christ and His Church: In 1993 we had established a church in Maloya with lot of pain and sacrifice and we used to conduct the worship service very small room with lot of congestion. Like this we had moved 9 times for worship around the Maloya. Of course we were so frustrated and tired of moving and every time we were loosing new souls and they were used to say these people do not stable place and they may go away any time. All these days we had been praying for stability in order to have a building for church. At the time my parents sold their property and give share to all of their kids and one of the share of mine given by parents and my wife also had gold jewelries been sold and I started collecting some donations ( very small amount) and also after deep prayer we also had been taken some loans and bought a piece of land and built the church in Maloya. Hallaluiah!!!!! Today we have no own house for us. The People those who look at us till today the mock us because they says first you need a house your own.
It is all everything for Christ!!!!! In our lives we had done very small things although we had gone through life risk times still the Lord had been so merciful and gracious that we are alive today.
Our reward in heaven is great. Psalm.20:3 May he remembers all your sacrifices and accepts your burnt offerings.
THE REAL SACRIFICE NEVER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM THE LORD BECAUSE HE HIMSELF SCARIFIED FOR US
PRAYER; Heavenly father we come to you with humble heart help us to build our life with your character so that we may do your ministry with all your character of holiness and humility with full sacrifice by set our minds and our eyes on you alone. Give us the spirit of prayer more than what we do and gives the wisdom more than things of this world so that we may be your sons and daughter in order to be good witness to unsaved world.
We ask this through your dear son Jesus Christ!!! Amen!!!!
