1 Timothy 4:14 - 'Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was

given thee*by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands

of the presbytery.'

Once you have tapped into your purpose from God, you need to belong to a*fellowship of like minded believers. This does not mean you surround*yourself with people that will not be straight with you or suppress the*truth for gain sake. But it means that you are surrounded by spiritual*people that can offer you a prayer covering and you can pray for them.*You need to be accountable to someone, but never mastered by them,*so you have to choose your Shepherd carefully. Your pastor*should be a person of vision beyond the four walls where he ministers.*God never intended for a pastor to only see inside of his own church,*but the pastor must be able to see bigger and better things for you and*the other gifts that are being birthed in his ministry. So, you need to*be careful how you choose your Shepherd and how you decide where to*worship and place your gift! If you belong to a ministry where the*gifts of God are not in operation, then your gift or calling will not*be in operation! If you belong to a ministry where the pastor is not*spiritual, then you will not be able be spiritual in that ministry.

Your Pastor's level of God is what you will be subject to. It's just like a ceiling! The*ceiling covers the room and nothing in the room can go up as high as*the ceiling. If you belong to ministry where your ceiling is too low,*you will be blocked and what you desire to do for God will not happen*there. Don't get me wrong, you should never focus on ministering on a*national level because God is the one that gives those kinds of*increases, but you must make sure that if the call does come, you have*a leader that will be able to handle it and not try to keep you down*because of jealousy or intimidation. The local church is the key to*your growth and your progress and if you are faithful to that local*ministry, then you are equipped for bigger and better things.*You must be sure that you are submitted to the correct*leadership because if you are not, then you may be subject to the call*of the flesh instead of the call of God. And also remember, you must*hear God! Your pastor many times can hear things and see*things you cannot, so if you know they are truly living right before*God, then you should listen to them and take their advice and*criticism. If you know that they can hear God and are spiritual, don't*turn a deaf ear to them when they say things that you don't want to*hear. (remember the itchy ears?). The scary part is, even if they are*a whoremonger, homosexual, or just generally possessed by satan, if you*belong to their fellowship, then you have to obey them and submit to*their authority! God will not allow you to cause a revolution or*mutiny in a man's house! If they are the pastor, then there is*authority in the position. Even if the pastor is not of God, the*position is, so you must respect it, or leave. Do not fight leadership*in a fellowship or you will bring a curse upon your own life. Either*stay there and submit, or leave! Bottom line, make sure you are*willing to follow the person you are Shepherded by. If not, then you*should move on because you do not want to be in a place where you*cannot receive the Word of God and you definitely do not want to*be operating in defiance.
