The law of the Spirit of life in Christ - Romans 8: 2.
The Christian Gospel is a message of life.
Untill a man comes into living touch with God through faith in Christ, the deepest part of his being is still dead.
Says Paul,"You hath He quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins." Let me say that until a man acknowledges the bankruptcy of all human endeavour to be right with God and prepared for eternity, and closes with God's offer of salvation through faith, that man, whether he be religious, whether he be good, whether he be decent, whether he be kind, is dead.
The Christian message is an offer of life in the realm of the spirit. The Lord Jesus said to the woman of Samaria, "Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be within him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life"
We say, therefore, that the essence of the Christian Gospel is the gift of life in the realm of the spirit; a gift which is nothing less than the very life and nature of Jesus Christ, the life which He lived on this earth, taken through the realm of death up to the throne of God and poured out in the Person of the Holy Ghost into every believing heart.
I ask you, have you life in the realm of the spirit - life that satisfies, life that abounds, life that brings joy to the heart and dispels gloom, and snaps the chains of human sin and sets a man free?
It is the grandest thing in the world to have that life in you!
The life which the Christian gospel offers to us, is life only in Christ.
God has nothing to offer mankind except it be through His Son Jesus. There is no answer to the need of the modern world except it be found in the Person of our wonderful Lord
