Mature Christians

Mature Christians regularly study the Bible. They always stay in training and God continues to take them to higher levels. Mature Christians are led by the Holy Spirit. They no longer let the flesh rule them, living by their own thoughts and desires, which are selfish and sinful in nature. Romans 8:13-For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. When we study God's Word, the Holy Spirit gives us His thoughts and desires which pleases God. His thoughts and desires bless us so we can be a blessing to others.

God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And all the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equally ascribed to the Holy Spirit. When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ, (John 1:12-13; John 3:3-21), God resides in that person through the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Mature Christians live an unselfish life. They are blessed because they put others first. Mature Christians give and love unconditionally. The more we study God's Word, the more love fills our hearts. The love of Christ controls us. 2 Corinthians 5:14-Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. Mature Christians are moving further and further away from the things of this world. We desire God's presence above all. Matthew 22:37-Jesus answered them, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind."

Lord, may we regularly study the Bible, the manual You gave us for living a holy life. Help us to grow in spiritual maturity so we can reflect the character of Jesus to a watching world. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
