Making mormonism Mainstream

The year 2011 has seen many LatterDaySaints efforts, put forth in making Mormonism a "main-stream religion" and known to the nation in all possible ways, regardless of the cost. Early this past summer, the Mormon Church sank a million dollars or more in advertising in the "Big Apple" for "the Book of Mormon Musical." It was described by viewers as vulgar and obscene, sexually suggestive, having references to rape and homosexuality and using the "f"-word as many as 49 times in addition to other expletives. Newsweek even commented, "...the Book of Mormon musical may be the most obscene show ever brought to a Broadway stage."

Mormons were promoting it and even claimed that writers of the show (Trey Parker and Matt Stone) were under divine inspiration when they wrote it -- and they gave credit for their inspiration to their founding prophet, Joseph Smith! A praise for this play was written by an LDS attorney, Adam Ford, and published in the Salt Lake Tribune, 6/15/2011. This was hardly a show demonstrating Mormons' godly behavior or giving an example of morality that Mormons have touted as their virtues. How could this show credibly proclaim the Book of Mormon as the Mormons' Holy Book? But advertising worked and brought masses to see it and view Mormons as "common sinners," not as "stiff" and "righteous," as they have been thought to be...Mormons can now be seen just the same as average vulgar Americans are seen by the world.

Yes I believe that, not sure if anyone else notice but on youtube there's a video on the right top that read " I am a mormon. " It's been over a year since that ad been on youtube. Never clicked on it though.

I've been telling people for some time now, Mitt Romney is the leading man for next elections and may be the next President. They have done everything possible to slowly desensitize us to embrace mormonism or see it as normal. Through tv shows ads and on broadway. This week there was a news special on Romney's mexican heritage ( not by native blood, they migrated from the US to mexico) Last year Joel Osteen was on an evening news show, and the host ask him about mormonism. Joel describe them as christian, but also saying he never studied it/didn't know much to discuss it. I almost fell off my chair, when I was a babe in Christ I learned about all the different religions. Him being a pastor and suppose man of God he's in big error or a liar. God knows which one he is, he's been a pastor since 1999 I believe and he's telling us he never studied it or even heard anything on the subject.

This is only the beginning and sadly we have a spiritual leader in the front making these types of statements. This will bring confusion and deceive many to accept mormonism or even convert for now it's just another christian denomination.

I agree Rizen1, and at any rate Joel is definitely not a spiritually mature christian and his followers are foolish to follow such an immature person.
But the same is true of many other mega church leaders and the WOF leaders.

The truly wicked are blessed by the presence of the righteous. Consider Sodom, the only thing holding back judgment was the presence of Lot. Then, of course, Psalm 73 helps to give us a picture of the wicked thriving amongst those who are Gods people and being reserved unto judgment later at the throne of Jesus Christ the righteous.

The task becomes identifying the righteous while watching the wicked rise to great success and power. Follow after the righteous and be not judged with the wicked but lead out by the hand of the angels before the fire and brimstone fall.

In our day it is difficult to identify the righteous as so many have gone out into the world and have transformed themselves into the preachers of righteousness. Many words roll off the lips of men who have studied Christ, God and the ways they promote. They preach to us how we ought to be in light of 'what' we are as men. They say and do not. They claim that we are merely 'sinners' without hope of purity in this life. They speak great swelling words about the hope we can have if we will follow their lead but always remind us that we are just human and cannot really be like Jesus in this life. Although we pour our hearts into trying to do good, we fail always. They say "this is what is right, but unfortunately you cannot do it".

These shall all rally behind Antichrist when he comes. Falling away from the one true God and his Christ in apostasy. Sects and denominations will find unity in purpose of heaven on earth behind the words of one man and his plea for love. God is Love but this man shall make Love God instead without righteousness or justice. When this man has been seated in the hearts of men, in the temple of God which now is, Gods patience will have run out. Man will have turned away from God and toward man for righteousness.

What does all this have to do with making Mormonism mainstream? Everything. God divides man for his own good. Into nations. Into kingdoms. By tongues. Man returns again to unity so that he may continue the work that was destroyed in Babel so many years ago. Mystery ***** Babylon will be judged. We are watching it all happen before our very eyes. Seek ye the kingdom and his righteousness while he is still to be found. Stick to division and separation from those who live in error. Preach the word. Be instant in season and out. Watch as the gallows are erected and the beloved of Christ are walked up to be beheaded for their testimony of the true Christ, the Prince of Peace, that is the only one who will usher in real peace on earth in his Kingdom.

Our Father, who art in heaven....thy kingdom come....the wicked be gone.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the creators of south park.

From Wikipedia:
The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical with a book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone.[1] Best known for creating the animated comedy South Park, Parker and Stone co-created the music with Lopez, who co-wrote and co-composed Avenue Q. The show lampoons organized religion and traditional musical theatre, reflecting the creators' lifelong fascination with Mormonism and musicals.
It seems very odd that Mormons would actually embrace this.
Parker and Stone are not pro Mormon, they make fun of all religions.
It may have actually helped interest in the religion and caused the public to fear them a little less.
I really don't think that was Stone and Parker's intention.

Mormans are not the religion od strick and polished moral people. If the avrage person knew what the cleansing and holy underwars are about they would say NO WAY.

But think about it, they believe the menwill become as god was. The beliebe they will get their own planet and the man will have their wives and have lots of babies. The woman will have babies forever! I am sure most women love having a baby, but not forever.

Anyone that can believe they will some day be as goood was has to be in a dream world. There are well educated peopled being suckered into believing this.

I hate to say this, but I would vote for a Morman over Obama. At least the morman does not lie about being a Morman, where Obama is a Muslim saying he is a christian. Boy did most people get hooked into Obamas lies. God save the USA.:groupwave:
