Love of Christ

Hi,

I was just wondering something. Is there any specific Scripture that says Jesus loves his disciples (ie. Christians)?


Obviously there is John- 3:16, but that doesn't talk about Jesus, the reference to God there is clearly a reference to God the Father.


I don't think there is a Scripture that says Christ loves us, even though the song 'Jesus loves me' is quite common in Sunday school.

FAITH FOCUS:
In this passage, Jesus is giving his disciples the commandment to love. He uses the image
of the vine to describe the communion with him that is necessary in order to follow the
command. Without continuing communion, no fruit can be produced. Loving others is the
fruit of this communion with Jesus. Jesus chooses us as friends and the most a person can do
to show love is to lay down his life as Jesus did for us.

Jesus loves his disciples as demonstrated in his death

^THIS is just part of what Jesus did for us, to show us His love for us.

John 13:1
It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

John 13:34

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

Thanks guys.

Does this scripture mean that Christ's love is dependent on me? What if I screw up? What if I keep screwing up even though I don't intend to?

John-14:21
