Long posts..................................

I'm sure this is just me...but can we keep posts to a minimum content. Some of these posts are so long I don't bother repling because I'm not sure about the content. I'm sure if I read the whole post I'd know....but I don't have an hour to read each of them. Maybe I'm alone in this...maybe not. Who really reads these long posts ? Most I'm sure are copy pasted from some online index commentary. There was another Christian forum I had gone on that did this same thing. Copy pasteing sermons and commentary notes....?....lets leave that for the Preacher on Sunday morning , this is a forum.

Agree.

I have mentioned this problem a few times myself.

I thought 10 to 20 lines as a maximum length post
would ease the strain on the reader.

If this is a poll, I would rather read one long post than 3 or 4 "short" posts. It's easier for me to follow the train of thought than having to sort thru 4 or 5 different messages. There are (admittedly rare) occassions when 20 lines just isn't enough to convey the point given.

I would agree on less "topics" or less "forums", it seems we have 20 or more separate threads for every imagineable topic under the sun.

Valid points all round.

I'm all for having different topics/threads but it does seem there is just to many and what happens is a lot of thread jacking and the subject gets lost , or something gets posted like this..."I'm not sure were to post this"...? .

Also, if your talking about a certain subject...stay with that subject. All to often someone will express an opinion on something else and the thread ends up going in the direction of your opinion and off the subject the thread was intended.

I've been going to all types of different forums for years and its the Christian and Political forums that ALWAYS post the longest posts. Why is that not surprising ?

The search for God, the truth of things, and to help others, most of the time cannot be accomplished in one sentence.

You will find that one day you will enjoy and seek truth and understanding yourself, and you will have a desire to help others and to find the truth in life.

People come here for help, something is on their mind, they are struggling with something, so those of us who have learned just a bit in life will try to help and if someone else do says.......you are wrong, we will go test that and if so .......say.....yes you are right.

Enjoy them.....learn and seek the truth of God. Words of truth will speak to you.....look for them.

Everyone please feel free to respond to any threads/posts that suit you. If a post is too short or too long to please your preference simply ignore it. There is no rule that you must respond to every post not even to those you have read.

While it is true that shorter posts with paragraphs are easier to read will probably receive more participation than those long one paragraph posts it is still the poster's choice.

Let's try and remember that this is Christian forum and we want to be careful not so strict with rule making that we stifle the spirit of the participants.
