Little Child Lost
Somehow I’ve gone and lost my way
I’m just a child, you see
So scared and frightened by the world
I think I’ll climb a tree
I’m not sure where my dear Mom is…
I surely miss my Dad
If you’d just point the way for me
I’ll be so awfully glad
My bike is somewhere in the yard
Right by the big oak tree
My name is Smith, it’s all I know…
Too little to be free
You say that Smith’s a common name
With hundreds in the book?
But I can’t read, I’m not in school
I don’t know where to look
I know, I know…there is a church
Right down the block from us
A great big cross is right out front
Don’t want to make a fuss
But I’m so scared, so much afraid
I never meant to roam
If you can take me to the cross
I’ll surely find my home
