Distractions everywhere! Phones. TVs. Books. Games. Then there’s shopping, sports, errands, chores—an endless list of activities tempting you to neglect spending time with your heavenly Father. These things are not necessarily wrong, but they can become idols if you’re not careful.
God can deliver you from harm and keep you from becoming distracted. That doesn’t mean you won’t have trouble in this life—remember, Jesus said there would be trouble. But the good news is that He has overcome the world. The enemy knows he cannot beat you, so he tries to get your mind off God and on life’s issues. Don’t let him succeed!
God is your source of spiritual strength, so you need to keep your focus on Him above anything else. Don’t let the cares, burdens, and distractions of life pull you away from that wonderful place of real faith in God. Believe that He is with you and for you always.
Prayer: God, thank You for caring about me. Some days I can tell that the devil is trying to take my eyes off You. He tries to keep me looking down at the distractions of the world and not up at Your glorious throne. Help me see You in everything today.
