Those who fear you shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in your word. Psalm 119:74 ESV

Have you ever met someone for the first time and sensed that he might be a Christian? Maybe that person expressed a deep love for others or used a certain phrase that led you to believe he was in the family of God. Such instances are always refreshing and often lead to a deeper conversation and connection than would have otherwise occurred.

If you’ve ever had window seat on a red-eye flight and happened to look down toward the ground, you saw lights spread out across the landscape even though you were 30,000 feet in the air. Maybe it gave you pause wondering what life was like for those particular people. Similarly, the Christian carries a light within him wherever he goes—into his home, his workplace, and the community. His light burns brighter and is easier to see when he’s spent ample time in the Word.

So, Christian, how bright is your light? Do other Christians see it? Do non-Christians inquire about it? If not, plug into the life-giving source of the scriptures and recharge.

Prayer: Lord, may the words of Jesus Christ from Matthew 5:16 (ESV) be true of me today: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

I remember the night i heard this song. I was a little kid, it might have been the "Christmas Program" of Little children. I might have been 6-8 years of age. All the lights were out in the church and you could hear the sound of Children singing, low and approaching, they were coming out of the basement of the church, as the singing got closer from the direction or a brim of light coming our way, little children, holding candles and swaying back and forth as they were walking singing this song: "Walk in the Light, Walk in the Light ............ Beauti-ful Light , ........ Come where the Dew drops .........of Mercy shine bright" Shine all around us .....by day and by night , Jesus the Light of the world". it was the most "beautiful song I had ever heard. I join that little choir! got baptized in order to join it. and ever now and then , I sing that song. and have a vision of that night.:pensive: watching the flickering of the candles lights.
