Leave Behind

When we walk into a room spilling our words as we go
Do we speak to have the words fall on the floor to be left
Or will listening ears pick them up to be carried away

Sitting around the dinner table do we pass words like food
Or do we let the words we speak fall like crumbs to the table
The words we speak can either feed us or get thrown away

What we eat get’s put on our hips if its not used the right way
Same way with words we use, like junk food there’s junk words
Some will just leave our tongue black an rotting

It’s not what we leave behind but what others take with them
Everything we do or say has a impact on the people we touch
Wether we hear them or see them they are watching us

So wether we speak negative or positive remember those around us
Never know who’s depressed in search of hope in the words we say
Or a child looking up wanting to be just like you or like me

Christ told us not to worry but to trust Him with no doubt for a reason
Not just to protect our minds from eternal darkness but from unseen eyes
He knew we would be watched by the hurting and lost

Yes I know it’s hard not to doubt or worry in this world that’s falling apart
But so is breathing underneath the surface of darkness pulling us down
May hold our breath for awhile but eventually will drown if we don’t resurface

When Christ ascended into the clouds He left behind salvation wrapped in love
Through His sacrifice and resurrection it was given with his Holy Spirit as a guide
The question is will we too leave it behind or will we take it and use it

dear poetforchrist . . .I enjoy your description

Thank you very much for detailed life situations we all get into at some point of life . . .

Thanky you for sharing the moments where we have been and have failed without even thinking about doing wrong . . .

and

Thank you for the encouragement your are opening up for our oportunities to change our bad behaviour

I am thinking of James 3 where its describing the little piece of our body which can be so destructive. . .

I would like to add it to your text. . .
as an additional bonus material if I may

Taming the Tongue

1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.

4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,

8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.

10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

11Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?
Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
