Joy

It seems these are amazing times. Covid-19, Riots, Bad economy, Rumours of Wars, High unemployment....

It is sometimes hard to have "joy". But we Christians should have peace and joy. These things shouldn't worry us, or cause us undo concern.

Psa 5:11; But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You.

Has the media and news robbed you of Joy? Are you sad and depressed about the current state of the world?

Psa 32:11; Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

Do you think God doesn't know about current state in the world?

Matt 10:29; "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
Matt 10:30; "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matt 10:31; "So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

John 16:24; "Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

Neh 8:10; Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Is the 'joy of the Lord' your strength? Or is your faith in other things?

James says even when bad things are happening to us... we should have joy.

Jas 1:2; Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,

The fruit of the Spirit is "joy"

Gal 5:22; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

It is only second to love in this list, I don't think that is by accident.

Do people see the joy in you? Do they see the peace that comes from Jesus in you?

Jesus warns against worrying all the time.

Mark 4:19; but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Luke 8:14; "The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Luke 21:34; "Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;

I wonder if most of our brothers and sisters in "Christ' really knows what the "joy" of the Lord is! And what the "Holy Spirit" is supposed to do for us.

A song i remember we use to sing had verses like this: "This Joy, that I have, the world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away", This peace that i have , the world didn't give it to me and the world sure can't take it away" This love that i have the world didn't give to me and the world sure can' t take it away"

People really don't realize or familiar with these "Christ" center lyrics anymore.

B-A-C...the scripture you posted are so sure and right. but i do believe in most cases, they do not ring in most "Steeples" of today.
